Kyle Rittenhouse has vowed to “prove me innocent again” after the man he shot in 2020 sued him for “emotional distress and humiliation”.

Gaige Grosskreutz, who testified that Rittenhouse pointed a gun at him and shot him during the 2020 Kenosha riots, will sue the 20-year-old for “damages for emotional distress, humiliation, loss of enjoyment of life, and other pain and suffering.” . on all claims.

Grosskreutz “must live with the physical and emotional injuries inflicted by defendant Rittenhouse and the defendants who substituted and enabled him,” the lawsuit says.

It claims that ‘law enforcement defendants deputized these armed individuals, conspired with them and ratified their actions by allowing them to patrol the streets, armed with deadly weapons, to dispense justice as they saw fit’.

This comes just weeks after the father of Anthony Huber, who was shot dead by Rittenhouse during protests, filed a “wrongful death” lawsuit against Rittenhouse, also alleging that he conspired with police to attack protesters.

Rittenhouse was previously found not guilty on all counts by a jury at a trial in November 2021, after fatally shooting two protesters and wounding a third during the 2020 Kenosha riots in Wisconsin.

Gaige Grosskreutz was among the protesters in Kenosha on August 25, 2020, which formed after the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a black man, in Kenosha.

Blake was shot four times in the back on August 23 and paralyzed from the waist down.

Grosskreutz and Rittenhouse met at the protests, as Rittenhouse, then 17, had traveled from his home in Illinois, reportedly intending to protect businesses from rioters.

During the confrontation, Rittenhouse shot three men, including Grosskreutz, with his AR-15 assault rifle.

Grosskreutz testified that he was pointing his own gun at Rittenhouse before he was shot in the arm.

He said that he did not intend to shoot Rittenhouse as his hands were raised and he was holding the gun towards him.

A jury found Rittenhouse not guilty on five felony counts, including one count of murder.

Since then, the victims and their families have filed separate lawsuits against Rittenhouse.

The lawsuit filed by John Huber, father of protester Anthony Huber, alleges that Rittenhouse and other “counter-protesters” were “subject to a different set of rules and allowed to move freely in areas controlled” by police.

He also claims that the officers violated Anthony Huber’s constitutional rights when they allowed the riot to escalate into violence, resulting in his death.

rittenhouse he told fox Grosskreutz’s lawsuit came as a shock as he “admitted to pointing a gun at my face and chasing me.”

CBS 58 reported that the lawsuit named Rittenhouse, former Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth, and former Kenosha Police Chief Daniel Miskinis as defendants, as well as the city and county of Kenosha and other counties and municipalities. who sent personnel to Kenosha during the protests.

Rittenhouse has divided opinion since the verdict in 2021.

President Biden came out after the decision, saying he was “angry and concerned” but said he agreed with the jury’s decision.

I am with the jury since the jury system has concluded. The jury system works and you have to comply with it, ”he told reporters at the time.

Meanwhile, Rittenhouse has continued to garner something of a following, last year gaining a massive following on his new shooting channel on YouTube.
