Rita Ora revealed more details about her secret wedding to Taika Waititi during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, including an A-list guest who was in attendance.
The singer, 33, has been promoting her upcoming Disney+ film Descendants: Rise Of The Red and spoke to the host about how “busy and busy she’s been”.
But the conversation quickly turned to the singer’s wedding, which she has largely kept secret because she has “always given everything she is part of to the public.”
However, on Wednesday, Rita decided to share a little snippet from her big day about the couple’s choice of music and what they got up to after tying the knot.
Jimmy pulled out a photo of Rita and someone dressed as Elvis performing together on the big day and asked, “Did you have an Elvis impersonator at your wedding?”

The 33-year-old singer married her husband, director Taika Waititi, in a secret ceremony in August 2022, after defying tradition and popping the question.
In the photo, the singer and actress wore an all-white outfit and sang passionately into a microphone, alongside the artist.
Explaining the backstory, Rita said: “But you know what was the craziest thing about this moment? It was a surprise. I didn’t ask for it.”
“There was no plan, I got married in a spur of the moment way and it was a lot of fun. Then we thought, ‘What now? ‘ We booked a hotel and had a little party.
She joked: ‘The first song she sang was ‘I’m Caught in a Trap’. I was like, ‘That’s how we wanted to start, you know what I mean?’ So what they’re saying is ‘I caught my husband’.
The actress later revealed that comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish, 44, was present at the after-wedding party and is friends with the singer.
Rita revealed: ‘Tiffany Haddish was there too, she’s a great friend of mine, and she said, ‘Well, I guess we’ll do this then!’
Rita and Taika, 48, tied the knot in August 2022, but did not confirm their nuptials until their first anniversary last year.
It was an impromptu ceremony at their Los Angeles home that they planned in just two weeks, after she popped the question during a trip to Palm Springs.

After being pronounced husband and wife, the newlyweds headed to their friend Guy Oseary’s home for a celebratory dinner, and were surprised by the Elvis impersonator who provided music for the event.

The gorgeous images also included the moment Taika saw his future wife for the first time as she walked down the aisle before getting married.
The couple beamed with happiness at becoming a married couple and shared a passionate first kiss as husband and wife.

Rita will play the Queen of Hearts in the musical TV movie, which will air on Disney+ on July 12.

The Queen of Hearts’ daughter, Red (Kylie Cantrall), joins forces with Chloe (Malia Baker), the daughter of Cinderella and King (née Prince) Charming, as they use the White Rabbit’s pocket watch to travel back in time and prevent a coup in their fantasy kingdom.
The character of Rita has appeared in numerous adaptations of Carroll’s Alice stories, although two of the most famous versions were Disney’s 1951 animated adaptation, Alice in Wonderland, voiced by Verna Felton.
The character was also brought to life by Helena Bonham Carter in the 2010 live-action version of Alice in Wonderland directed by her then-partner, Tim Burton.
The new Descendants movie features another musical star, Brandy Norwood, who reprises her role from Disney’s television musical adaptation of Cinderella, which aired on ABC in 1997.
Paolo Montalban, who played Prince Christopher in that version, will also return to play a similar version of the character, King Charming.
