Rita Ora was in good company as she settled in Madrid on Tuesday, shortly after flying to the Spanish capital to perform on behalf of the extravagant jewelry brand Cartier.

The British singer, 31, was joined by ever-present boyfriend Taika Waititi and American model Maya Henry, who appears to have bounced back after her abrupt divorce from One Direction star Liam Payne.

Rita’s close friend Vas J Morgan also made an appearance as the group took advantage of rising Mediterranean temperatures the morning after its last live performance.

The singer looked sleek and well-groomed as she leaned on a sun lounger close to their outdoor pool during a short stay in Madrid, ostensibly to make a series of public appearances.

Joining Rita, Texan model Maya, 21, was an equally captivating sight thanks to her green thong bikini as she settled down for a day of rest and relaxation in the Spanish city.

Apparently cheerful, she greeted the onlookers with a reserved smile as she leaned next to Rita, her eyes shielded by heavily tinted sunglasses.

New Zealand-born director Taika occupied a recliner next to his girlfriend, and the tattooed filmmaker stood out in a blue cap and patterned Bermuda shorts as he soaked up the sun.

Despite the soaring temperatures, Rita opted for a quintessentially British cup of tea from the staff as she started her day in the grounds of their opulent five-star hotel.

Close friend Maya, who was known to be single after her breakup with Liam, was later covered up by donning a white terry cloth robe before dragging her inside.

Earlier this week, reports emerged that the British singer and Taika were engaged and were planning an impending peaceful ceremony abroad before celebrating with their fellow A-listers at a huge London bash later this year.

It’s clear that Rita, who is working on several films and The Voice Australia, and Taika, who is planning a series of films, hope to tie the knot once their work commitments are completed.

A friend told The Sun: “This isn’t about them doing something flashy and crowing about it beforehand. The point is that they are in love and decide that the time is right to formalize their relationship. They couldn’t be happier.

“They didn’t do a whole, ‘Will you marry me?’ thing and an Instagram post. There is no ring or large build-up. They came closer and closer and finally said to each other almost simultaneously, “I want to marry you.”

The friend added that there are “a few details to iron out” but that the marriage is “coming soon”.

The couple started dating in March 2021 and just five months later in August, the couple were reportedly already talking about marriage.

Taika was previously married to film producer Chelsea Winstanley, but the couple is believed to have quietly split up in 2018.

The couple share two daughters: Te Hinekahu, ten, and Matewa Kiritapu, six.
