“Don’t look while eating!” Rise And Fall Viewers Feel ‘SICK’ As Contestants Are Forced To LICK Dirty Plates In Latest Vile Challenge To Increase Prize Pool

Rise And Fall viewers were left gagging Wednesday night as they watched the latest vile challenge on the cutthroat game show.

The Channel 4 show, created by the creators of the BBC hit The Traitors and hosted by BBC Radio 1 Breakfast presenter Greg James, has given the ‘Grafters’ disgusting challenges to raise money for the prize pool.

After the contestants were forced to sniff roaches and eat dog food in previous episodes, the final challenge was for them to do the dishes – with their tongues.

In order to increase the prize pool – the lump sum they compete for – the Ents must work like pot washers, using only their tongues as a cleaning agent to mop up the remains of soup, a fish dish, a main course and a pudding.

Viewers quickly swarmed on Twitter in disgust, with fans writing, “What the bloody hell! … Do not watch this episode while eating or after eating! Today’s service makes me sick’.

Licking the plate is just the latest in a long line of gruesome challenges.

The series, which offers contestants the chance to win a cash prize while being split into teams of “rulers” and “grafters,” is built to explore the power dynamics between bosses and employees as the grafters are directed by their rulers to meticulous assignments to increase the prize pool.

However, after the resounding success of the Claudia Winkleman show The Traitors last December, some viewers think Rise and Fall is in the shadows.

On Twitter, viewers suggested that the Channel 4 show was ‘not nearly as good as The Traitors’ – though a former BBC show contestant revealed he watches Rise and Fall and is enjoying the premise so far.

Others suggested that the show is more of a “slow burner” than The Traitors, arguing that it will increase over time as more events unfold between the contestants – and others suggested that the two shows had nothing in common at all, so it was ‘lazy’ to compare them.

Set in Westminster, Rise and Fall is being produced by Studio Lambert, who also oversaw production of The Traitors in the UK and US.

In the show’s first two episodes, the 16 contestants were split into “rulers” and “grafters,” with the “rulers” directing how their counterparts performed on tasks that gave them an opportunity to earn money.

Outside of duties, the rulers live in luxury in a penthouse flat and are treated to banquets and the finer things in life, while the grafts live in basic conditions in the basement, subsisting on a diet of broth and bread.

In the first episode, the grafters had to perform a task where they received small electric shocks while building a circuit, in order to increase the prize money. Meanwhile, the rulers watched over the events in their penthouse and encouraged them to continue to earn more money.
