Ringo Starr has revealed why Taylor Swift’s career could reach even greater heights than the Beatles – because she can hear herself perform.
The world-famous drummer, 84, compared the singer’s dominance to that of Beatlemania, which gripped the world in the 1960s when the Beatles transformed from an unknown quartet in Liverpool into global megastars.
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com on her birthday and at the Peace & Love event on July 7, Ringo shared his belief that Taylor, 34, has what it takes to surpass the historic milestones she achieved alongside John Lennon, Sir Paul McCartney and George Harrison.
“Of course, there are a lot of people who go crazy when you go on stage,” he said. “The difference now is that she can hear what she’s doing.”
“We couldn’t hear what we were doing because we were on the house sound system, you know? We had the house sound system.”
Ringo Starr has revealed why Taylor Swift’s career could reach even greater heights than the Beatles – because she can hear herself perform.
The 84-year-old drummer described Taylor, 34, as a “beautiful person” and praised her momentous career.
He praised the “Cruel Summer” singer, continuing: “She’s a beautiful person. I ran into her with her mom at the Grammys or something. So I know her. God bless her. She’s doing well.”
Asked if he had any advice for Taylor as she begins the next decades of her career, Ringo said: “I don’t think she needs my advice.
“It’s pretty good like this, thanks.”
Beatlemania broke out in the US following the Beatles’ performance on the Ed Sullivan Show on 9 February 1964, which is cited as the performance that spread the fan-led, ecstatic culture surrounding the band from the United Kingdom to the United States.
Throughout the 1960s, Beatlemania was the name given to the fanaticism that followed them as they grew in popularity, with crowds following them wherever they went.
In the weeks leading up to their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, radio stations played the band’s music almost non-stop and fans prepared to flock to their arrival.
When the plane landed at New York’s Kennedy International Airport on February 7, the Beatles were greeted by huge crowds.
The Ed Sullivan Show was the main event of his 15-day visit to the United States, drawing an estimated 73 million domestic audience, now considered a cultural watershed.

Taylormania is giving Beatlemania a run for its money: the pop star has become the first musician in history to surpass the billion-dollar mark with his Eras Tour.
Following the success, the band later returned for a month-long tour of the US and Canada in August 1964, performing their first stadium shows.
Although the Beatles are considered one of the most influential bands of all time, it is undeniable that Taylor’s continued stratospheric success could present competition.
Last week, the Pennsylvania native matched her personal best on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
The singer spent her 11th week at number one on the chart with her latest album The Tortured Poets Department, Billboard reported Sunday.
That means it’s tied for her longest run at the top of the chart, after her previous LPs 1989 and Fearless also spent 11 weeks at number one.
If the massive popularity of her albums continues, it will become her longest streak at the top of the album chart.
According to the publication, the last album by a woman to spend 11 weeks at number one was 1989, which achieved that feat in 2014 and 2015, although its stay was not consecutive.
But the last time a woman had that many consecutive weeks at the top was in late 1992 and early 1993, when Whitney Houston managed 11 consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200 with her soundtrack to The Bodyguard.
The group, photographed in 1964, has more chart hits than any other artist in history.
Taylormania has also reached new heights thanks to her highly publicized relationship with 34-year-old NFL player Travis Kelce.
The popular album eventually racked up a total of 20 non-consecutive weeks at number one.
While the Beatles have more chart-topping hits than any other artist, Taylor is no slouch.
The Beatles achieved 20 number one hits during their worldwide dominance, including hits such as I Want to Hold Your Hand and Yesterday.
Taylor, on the other hand, has a total of 12 number ones under her belt, including Cruel Summer and Fortnight.
Seven of these number ones came in the last five years of his career.
In October, it was reported that Taylor’s lucrative Eras Tour will earn her an estimated $4.1 billion.
The tour kicked off on March 17, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona, and will conclude on December 8, 2024 in Vancouver, Canada, after 152 shows across five continents.
In December, it became the first tour to surpass the $1 billion mark, with 4.35 million tickets sold across 60 tour dates.
As a result, Taylor has pumped billions more into the American economy, and her massive output has generated numerous touring, ticketing and merchandising opportunities for her legions of “Swifties.”
Ringo and his wife Barbara Bach arrive at his annual Peace & Love birthday celebration at Beverly Hills Garden Park on July 7.
Over the past year, Taylormania has reached new heights thanks to her highly publicized relationship with 34-year-old NFL player Travis Kelce.
Both being all-time greats in their own industries, the pair have dominated headlines since their romance blossomed last May, with the smitten pair garnering attention across the globe.
The lovebirds are currently making the most of their time together as she continues the UK and European leg of her world tour, before he returns to Chiefs training camp on July 21.
And Taylor’s success shows no sign of flagging even though some of her fans, or “Swifties,” have expressed apparent fatigue with her constant chart dominance and seemingly endless release of TTPD variants, of which there are currently more than 30.
More recently, pop fans suspected that her record label may have employed some tactics to prevent Charli XCX’s Brat from topping the UK Albums Chart.
Prior to that, rumors had circulated of behind-the-scenes friction between Taylor and Billie Eilish after Taylor released two “special” editions of TTPD on the same day Billie released Hit Me Hard and Soft.
The action even prompted Billie’s manager Danny Rukasin to re-share (and later delete) a tweet accusing Taylor of “breaking her neck doing everything she can to stop other artists from shining.”
