‘The last three weeks she was alive I was with her several times and I felt worried. “I think there was always kind of an undercurrent for me because of the feeling that I was on borrowed time with her… there were a couple of interactions with her that felt very different,” Riley said during the special.

Riley said mother Lisa Marie seemed “distant,” tired” and “resigned” as she recovered from the pain of losing her son Benjamin Keough, who died on July 12, 2020 at age 27 by suicide.

The actress noted that she did not believe it was related to substance abuse: “It didn’t feel like drugs – I have a lot of experience with drugs – I felt like a tired person.”
