Riley Keough has been on a whirlwind press tour promoting her late mother Lisa Marie Presley’s memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown.
Riley, granddaughter of Rock N’ Roll legend Elvis Presley, was spotted in three different, but equally stylish, looks while out and about in New York City on Wednesday.
The actress, 35, spoke candidly about her late mother Lisa Marie, who died in January 2023 at age 54, during her interview with Oprah Winfrey in a special titled An Oprah Special: The Presleys – Elvis, Lisa Marie and Riley.
During the interview, Riley revealed that three weeks before Lisa Marie’s death, he noticed a change in her, noting that she seems “detached,” “tired,” and generally seemed like a “tired person.”
The memoirs were published posthumously on October 8; Lisa Marie had been working on it at the time of her death. Riley finished the memoir after his passing.
Lisa Marie died on January 12, 2023 at age 54, due to small bowel obstruction, caused by complications from bariatric surgery.
He died two days after attending the Golden Globe Awards with Riley and Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie’s mother and Riley’s grandmother.
Oprah asked him about his mother Lisa Marie’s last days before her death and what she looked like.
‘The last three weeks she was alive I was with her several times and I felt worried. “I think there was always kind of an undercurrent for me because of the feeling that I was on borrowed time with her… there were a couple of interactions with her that felt very different,” Riley said during the special.
Riley said mother Lisa Marie seemed “distant,” tired” and “resigned” as she recovered from the pain of losing her son Benjamin Keough, who died on July 12, 2020 at age 27 by suicide.
The actress noted that she did not believe it was related to substance abuse: “It didn’t feel like drugs – I have a lot of experience with drugs – I felt like a tired person.”

The interview took place at Graceland, the famous Memphis mansion that his grandfather Elvis bought in 1957, which has remained in the Presley family ever since.
Riley also spoke about Lisa Marie speaking in the memoir about her decision to keep her late son Benjamin’s body in a guest house at her Los Angeles mansion, using dry ice to preserve his remains for two months after his suicide in July. of 2020.
Lisa Marie also got a matching tattoo like Benjamin amid her grieving process.
Riley said she wanted to know his name and get a matching tattoo of it on her hand.
When the tattoo artist asked if he had any photos that could be helpful in the process, Lisa Marie took him to see Ben and his remains.
They finally held the funeral in Malibu and buried Benjamin at Graceland, where Lisa Marie is also buried, near Elvis, who died in 1977 at age 42 of a heart attack.
