Pearsall is now in stable condition and the suspect is in custody, according to District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin.
Pearsall was reportedly attacked for his Rolex watch. There are also unconfirmed claims that he was at an autograph signing session when the shooting occurred.
The 23-year-old Arizona native was preparing to play his first NFL game on Monday, September 9 against the New York Jets.
Pearsall, a wide receiver, was selected with the 31st pick in April’s NFL Draft after playing collegiately at Arizona State and Florida.
A 49ers spokesman did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
