Channel Nine’s Richard Wilkins is caught in a compromising moment with a fan as he spends several minutes signing a bizarrely elaborate autograph
Richard Wilkins found himself in an awkward position on Friday when he ran into a fan asking for a photo and autograph.
Weekend Today co-host, 68, was happy to accede to the woman’s wishes when he sketched an elaborate signature on her work vest across her chest.
The fan, whose name was Marie, was all smiles as she bumped into the entertainment editor during a break and posed for a photo to show her friends and family.
Meanwhile, Wilkins looked focused as he scribbled “Marie, love, Richard Wilkins” on her chest.
After they parted ways, Wilkins returned to his newspaper puzzles, sitting on a park bench for some fresh air while waiting for a car to pick him up.

Sylvia Jeffreys, Lauren Phillips, Ben Fordham, Jayne Azzopardi and Tim Gilbert, among others, were all in attendance.
Jeffreys and Phillips both took to Instagram to congratulate Richard on his incredible career milestone.
Alongside a group photo from the party, 36-year-old Jeffreys wrote, “Dickie is the kind of friend who makes you feel like family. I am so proud to call him a friend and celebrate his 35 years with Channel Nine. We love you, Dickie Bird.’
Phillips also shared two photos of herself hugging Wilkins and holding a glass of champagne.
