Bethenny Frankel called out Bravo for allegedly failing to get permission from Jill Zarin to film outside her late husband Bobby’s funeral in 2018.
Appearing on Monday’s episode of her former Real Housewives of New York City co-star’s Just B podcast, the 59-year-old mother-of-one said she did not sign a release for the network to film any part of her spouse’s funeral, which was held at Riverside Memorial Chapel.
After Jill claimed she never gave her blessing for the RHONY cameras to document Bobby’s funeral, Frankel, 52, alleged that Andy Cohen told her: “Jill said you can bring the cameras to the funeral.”
“That’s what he told me,” the Skinnygirl creator told Jill, who insisted she didn’t know what the cameras were for, which captured a candid conversation between the women.
Reminiscing about seeing her estranged friend at the service, Jill told listeners her heart plummeted and she was “so happy.”
Not OK: Bethenny Frankel called out Bravo for allegedly failing to get Jill Zarin’s permission to film outside her late husband Bobby’s funeral in 2018
“You looked dead in this black hat and black suit,” Jill told Frankel.
In response to Jill’s claims about not consenting to be filmed, the businesswoman was shocked, saying, “That’s literally the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard.”
“That’s disgusting,” he continued. “It’s embarrassing… it’s really disgusting, it’s absolutely disgusting, that’s disgusting, and I apologize, because it was a show and a circus and yes, the lines are blurred.”
Jill remembered someone saying to her, ‘Bethenny wants to talk to you before she goes.’
During their conversation, he noted that he saw cameras, but assumed they were just paparazzi, saying he was “not on a microphone” and had no idea Frankel was.
‘So what you’re saying is that I ambushed a funeral for a reality show?’ Frankel asked.
Jill then made it clear that while she never gave permission to film the funeral, she did want Bobby’s “death to be acknowledged on the show.”
DailyMail.com has contacted Bravo for comment but has not heard back at this time.
Their meeting marks the first time they have been alone together since 2010, after years of fighting.

Allegations: While appearing on Monday’s episode of her former Real Housewives of New York City co-star’s Just B podcast, the 59-year-old mother-of-one claimed she did not sign a release for the network to film any part of her spouse’s funeral, which was held at Riverside Memorial Chapel (seen above at Bobby’s funeral with Jill in 2018)

His side: After Jill claimed she never gave her blessing for the RHONY cameras to document Bobby’s funeral, Frankel, 52, alleged that Andy Cohen told her: “Jill said you can bring the cameras to the funeral.”
On Monday, Frankel shared a photo with Jill and a sweet caption about how this marks her “first time alone since 2010.”
She noted that the episode was airing as-is, with no edits or redone sections at Jill’s request, as she was concerned that her words would be doctored.
That ease made Jill feel at home despite having a difficult conversation about the end of their friendship.
“The reason I was mad at you was because it hurt to lose you and be left out of everything,” Jill said during a moment of emotional candor.
“I remember when they invited you on a free ride, and I didn’t want to come for the free ride, I wanted to be with you,” he said sweetly, darkly. “I felt like I lost you and I couldn’t really say that the things you said hurt me.”
She and Bethenny reminisced about how they met, and though their recollections were hazy, Jill and Bethenny agreed that RHONY had already begun filming its first season with Jill as part of the cast, but the producers were still looking for a “fifth housewife.”
After Jill met Bethenny a few years after her stint as runner-up on the spinoff season of The Apprentice hosted by Martha Stewart in 2005, she encouraged her to join the fledgling show.
Bethenny even credited Jill with partially inspiring the name for her hit line of Skinnygirl cocktails, which she sold for $120 million in 2011, calling her, apparently approvingly, skinny during their first meeting in the Hamptons.
They delved into how their relationship fell apart before Bethenny’s departure at the end of season three.

Upsetting to hear: In response to Jill’s claims about not consenting to being filmed, Frankel acted surprised as he said, “That’s literally the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard.”

Friendly again: On Monday, Frankel shared a photo with Jill and a sweet caption about how this marks his ‘first time solo since 2010’
Jill recounted how she was hurt that Bethenny didn’t reach out to her when her husband Bobby was ill before his death in 2018 after he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Bethenny even applauded Jill’s cruelty after Jill admitted she had been upset for some time, but didn’t mention her feeling of being abandoned by her friend until after filming for RHONY resumed.
But Jill said she hoped to work out her issues with Bethenny, and believed the two could have worked things out if the businesswoman had stayed on RHONY season four, instead of going on to a spinoff reality series and then a short-lived talk show, though she later returned to RHONY after Jill’s fourth season departure.
According to Zarin, once the housewives weren’t filming together and regularly in each other’s company, they grew further apart as their problems with each other were allowed to fester.
Elsewhere, Jill admitted that she “didn’t do well with surprises,” which is what made her such a popular housewife.
‘Every time you surprised me, I couldn’t handle it!’ he told her, which made for great television, but once he finally planned a confrontation of his own, he no longer had screen time with Bethenny to apologize.
“The point is, I definitely made mistakes, and I wanted to be there for you, when you got pregnant and all, but you just wouldn’t let me come back,” Jill said.
Bethenny said that she would not let Jill back into her life because she thought that Jill would leak her private communications afterwards.
