Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Crystal Kung Minkoff has opened up about the online bullying she has received after becoming the first Asian-American to join the cast.

During a reunion episode last October, the 38-year-old reality star revealed that she receives “hundreds of messages a day” from racist trolls and on Saturday, weighed in on the current state of the situation in an interview with People magazine.

“It’s gotten better,” Crystal told the news outlet at the Gold Meets Golden gala, which celebrated AAPI Heritage Month.

She continued, “But our season just started, so I noticed a little bit more, but I’m more prepared to handle it.”

The Real Coco founder added: ‘And I realize I always grew up in Los Angeles. I obviously grew up in a very Chinese home, like in a bubble.

“I didn’t realize that a lot of people had never seen an Asian person on TV, integrated, mixed marriage, mixed kids,” he said.

Last May, Crystal made her debut as a full-time cast member in the season 11 premiere episode and returned for season 12, which is currently airing.

She expressed that she was grateful for the support she had received from fans despite the ‘negativity’.

When asked which of the RHOBH cast members she’s closest to, the businesswoman said, “I’m going to say Sutton, Garcelle because I see them a lot.”

“We see each other a lot off camera, so yeah, but I get along with everyone,” Crystal added.

Sutton and Garcelle Beauvais, 55, joined the show at the same time as Crystal, who admitted there was a divide between the original reality stars and the new members.

‘They have been filming a long time together. They’ve established their friendships, and it’s okay… I get it,’ she said.

“I want someone to understand that if I have another close friend, I’m not going to try to move my way. I’m just going to show who I am, and if you like me, love me, and if you don’t, then you’re missing out.
