Rhian Ramos has revealed that she once broke up with her boyfriend, Tutok To Win party list representative Sam Verzosa, due to a lack of ‘communication’, but they eventually got back together.
Ramos made the revelation in an interview with veteran host Boy Abunda on an episode of ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ last Monday, June 19, when asked to clarify his relationship status with Verzosa.
“The balita huling is naghiwalay, nagkabalikan. What happened?” Abunda asked Ramos. (The latest news is that you broke up and then got back together. What happened?)
“Okay, yes. It’s true no [naghiwalay at nagkabalikan] kamis. What happened is I guess we could have communicated better,” she said in response. “I think it’s very important in a relationship na kaya niyong pag usapan lahat and you don’t force the other person na hulaan kung anong nararamdaman mo kasi tao rin tayong lahat.”
(Okay, yeah. It’s true that we broke up and got back together. What happened is that I guess we could have communicated better. I think that’s very important in a relationship that you talk to each other about everything, and you don’t force the other person to guess how you feel because we’re all human.)
The actress then admitted that Verzosa’s entry into politics was one of the reasons for their separation. “I would say, [Sam entering politics] was one of the reasons, but it was a compilation of a lot of things and it’s hard to say,” she said.
“It was difficult and if I can be honest, if I think about it, I wish I could have been more supportive. Noong nanalo na siya, doon ko lang na-realize na hindi ko siya nasamahan sa kahit anong rally (when he won, that’s when I realized I couldn’t join him in his rallies),” she continued.
During the interview, the Kapuso star shared that she’s not one to get too involved in politics, which ultimately affected her relationship with her partner.
“Kasi growing up as an artist I learned to try not to be so political kasi I don’t want anyone to make big decisions because of me like kung sino ang iboboto. Kaya didn’t have never said anything endorsing pulitiko Nakailang eleksyon na rin akong naranasan, pero I don’t want anyone to make important decisions in front of me,” she said.

While the ‘Royal Blood’ star admitted that she and Verzosa aren’t planning on getting married yet, she apparently hinted that she considers her boyfriend “the only one.”
“We don’t plan [to tie the knot yet]. But we are playing with the idea. It was never naman my dream or a requirement, but I would do it if God put it in my life and if it was for me. If I didn’t want him to be the only one, then what am I doing with him? “, did she say.
