The MasterChef star shared a photo of a perfect edible rose on Instagram this weekend after making the dish for the first time the week before.
He runs the KOI Dessert Bar chain with his brother, which has branches in Chippendale and Ryde in Sydney.
Reynold recently came under fire when he criticized Italian pasta while on vacation in Italy to attend a friend’s wedding in the Lake Como area.
During his trip, he shared a pasta dish on his Instagram stories that he didn’t like with harsh criticism.

He said the small dish, which looked almost indistinguishable from a flower, was made from Kingfish.

Fans of the celebrity chef flocked to the comments of the image to leave behind a series of emojis expressing their shock at the dish.
“These ravioli. No no no no… How am I the only one who feels like this is poorly done? As a non-Italian,” he wrote.
However, it appears that Reynold received some backlash from fans in his direct messages, as he later posted a retraction of sorts on his initial photo.
“Okay, I received some angry reactions to my pasta article. For context, yes, those are exactly tortellini. On the menu it said “Ravioli”. More! The sage wasn’t even cooked,” he said.
“The intensity of the raw sage was too pungent. I have yet to have an incredible pasta experience here in Italy.
