- He said he deeply regretted his comment and was committed to making amends.
An Australian jockey has apologized after making an outrageous comment during a post-race interview on Monday.
Dean Yendall, 49, spoke to Racing.com after winning the first race at Swan Hill aboard Russian Spirit when he made an “inappropriate and offensive joke” while discussing the windy conditions at the racecourse.
He noted the windy conditions would “make a prostitute explode” during a live chat with the sports channel.
Commissioners deemed the comments “damaging to the image of racing” and Yendall, who earned more than £35 million (A$67 million) in earnings during his long career, addressed Instagram to apologize.
He said: “I would like to express my sincere apologies for the inappropriate and offensive joke that was made during the Racing.com post-race interview at the Swan Hill races.
