Audit: Revolut has struggled to obtain a UK banking license
Revolut welcomed the green light from its auditor as it continues its battle to obtain a UK banking license.
The UK chief executive of the financial app, Francesca Carlesi, said yesterday that the app was “progressing well”.
But he added that there was no timetable for when Revolut might obtain a license.
More than a year ago, the company said regulatory approval was “imminent” and the license would be granted “any day now.”
Revolut also reported group revenue of £1.8 billion and £439 million in profits.
It was the first time in three years that Revolut published its annual report before the deadline.
Getting its accounts in order has been seen as a crucial step on the road to obtaining a licence after applying to the Bank of England in 2021.
