The BBC is giving an acclaimed drama a second series after two years off screens following rave reviews.
Scottish murder mystery Granite Harbor was a BBC iPlayer favorite upon its 2022 debut, racking up more than seven million views across its three hour-long episodes.
The series focuses on Corporal Davis Lindo (Romario Simpson), a new Police Scotland recruit who arrived in Aberdeen from Jamaica.
The second series will launch at 10pm on Thursday 2 May on BBC Scotland and the following day on BBC One.
Alternatively, all three episodes will be available to enjoy on BBC iPlayer upon release.

The new DC is thrown into the background with his DCI mentor Lara Bartlett (Hannah Donaldson, left) as the pair are tasked with solving the murder of an Aberdeen oil tycoon.
In the first season, new detective Constable found himself in the deep end after the headline-grabbing murder of a local oil tycoon, found dead while his company was merging with a renewable energy company.
Lance, along with his new mentor, DCI Lara ‘Bart’ Bartlett (Hannah Donaldson), a cunning and cunning Aberdonian used to working alone, were tasked with finding the criminal.
Filming of the new season, which will also consist of three parts, began in October 2023 and concluded shortly after, after being renewed last August.
The synopsis for the first installment of the second season reads: “When famed drug dealer fixer Grace McFadden (Lesley Hart) turns up dead, MIT has its work cut out for it to find the source of a new cocaine and ketamine compound flooding the streets.
‘Fearing that an imminent drug turf war is brewing, the team fights to uncover the truth.
‘To complicate matters, Lindo investigates the case of pregnant stowaway Mariam, who claims that her partner was murdered on their journey across the sea.
‘At the dock, Lindo and Bart’s suspicions are heightened by the cautious behavior of Captain Anders Nilsen and his protégé Axel Berg of the Stolthet, a Norwegian freighter that recently arrived in Aberdeen.
‘After complications and conflict arise, DCI MacMillan removes Lindo and Bart from the stowaway murder case.
‘However, Lindo has other ideas and refuses to give up his hunch that Stolthet’s crew is guilty of something sinister.
‘As the drug investigation progresses slowly, Monty and Mallick become even more frustrated by the McFadden family’s unwillingness to cooperate.
“As the investigation takes the team in different directions, Lindo faces an additional complication when his estranged father, Grantley, arrives to visit from Jamaica. However, it’s clear he has his own agenda.
Returning alongside Simpson and Donaldson are Dawn Steele as DCI MacMillan, Bhav Joshi as Mallick and Michelle Jeram as DS Simone ‘Monty’ Montrose.
They will be joined by new cast members including Hart, Patrick Robinson as Grantley, Afsaneh Dehrouyeh as Mariam, Søren Malling as Captain Anders Nilsen and Christopher Rygh as Axel Berg.
Sani Mamood, Sakuntala Ramanee, Sam Garioch, Layla Kirk, Kate Bracken, Melina Akermin Kvie and Alex Høgh Anderson will also star in unknown roles.
Following the success of the first series, Jamaican-born Simpson said: “I’m delighted to be returning to Scotland to film the second series of Granite Harbour.
‘I’m looking forward to reuniting with the original cast and collaborating with some new creatives.

Granite Harbor joins a growing list of BBC Scotland dramas, with titles including Shetland, Guilt, Vigil and upcoming new series Nightsleeper in that category.
