The owner of William Hill said the review, which could lead to a hefty fine or the revocation of its British gambling license, focused on FS Gaming’s investment and its proposal to change management of 888.
FS Gaming, backed by Alexander and other former Entain bosses, bought a 6.6 percent stake last month.

Since then, changes to the board have included the appointment of Alexander as CEO.
Entain has become entangled in a four-year HMRC investigation into possible breaches of the Bribery Act by its former subsidiary in Turkey.
Alexander led GVC for over 13 years, growing it into a FTSE 100 company with 25,000 employees.
The Gambling Commission said it did not comment on individual operators or whether they are under investigation.
