Simone Holtznagel and Jono Castano shocked fans last month by revealing they had broken up in May, shortly after the birth of their daughter Gia.
However, a close friend made the shock announcement on Friday that their relationship had been destined to end for some time now.
A source close to the couple said The Daily Telegraph that several friends and family members warned Simone, 31, that her modeling lifestyle was not compatible with Jono’s fitness and influencer career.
The first real sign of trouble came when Jono, 33, posted photos of himself on a luxurious holiday in Thailand days after Gia was born on March 31 – and Simone and their baby were nowhere to be seen.
While many of Jono’s followers were quick to gush over the snaps, Holtznagel neither liked nor commented on them.
Meanwhile, another follower asked ironically: “Don’t you have a newborn baby? Where is your girlfriend?”
Shortly after the post was published, the couple finally addressed rumors that there was trouble in paradise and confirmed that their relationship was over.
The former lovebirds no longer live together: Simone has moved to Wollongong with her baby, while Jono remains in Sydney to run his Acero Gym chain.

Last month, celebrity personal trainer Jono said he and Simone decided to go their separate ways at the end of May.
Simone is currently with her family in Wollongong, while Jono remains in Sydney running his gym Acero, which he co-founded with his ex-wife Amy.
Jono exclusively told Daily Mail Australia of the split: ‘We just decided the best thing for her was to spend time with her family in Wollongong.
“Who knows what the future holds. Our goal is simply to be the best parents for Gia at this stage.”
However, a close friend made the shock announcement on Friday that their relationship was long destined to end.
The couple’s split came about nine weeks after they welcomed their first child into the world on Easter Sunday.
Simone and Jono are believed to still maintain a friendly relationship and are focusing on co-parenting their beloved daughter.
News of their split came just hours after Simone posted a cryptic quote about “moving on” and being “patient” for a “long time” on her Instagram Stories.
