The late Princess of Wales’s younger brother, Earl Spencer, and his older sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, walked side by side to St Paul’s before chatting to their nephew, who now lives in the United States.

However, his wife, Meghan Markle, is believed to have made the decision not to join her husband in the UK for fear of a poor reception.

Rishi Sunak’s wife Akshata Murty also joined the group, dressed in a green military-style coat with gold buttons, where she was joined by Minister of State for Veterans Affairs Johnny Mercer.

Other stars in the crowd included former Olympic triple jump champion Jonathan Edwards.

Prince Harry’s spokesman said Tuesday that the king had been too busy to see his youngest son during his brief visit to the United Kingdom. Last night, however, Palace sources suggested that no formal request for a meeting had been made.

Despite well-documented tensions with the Windsors, Prince Harry has remained close to his mother’s family over the years, particularly Lady Jane.

Lady Jane, the middle of the three sisters, four years older than Diana, has long been seen as a confidant and stabilizing influence in her life.

He was asked to give a reading during Harry’s wedding to Meghan in 2018 and was one of the first members to be invited to meet their young son Archie, even before Prince William.

Throughout his explosive memoir Spare gave “prominent thanks” to Lady Jane, her older sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer, but made no mention of the late queen, King Charles or his brother.

So it’s no surprise that two of the brothers attended yesterday’s ceremony to provide support for Diana’s youngest son.

In addition to his uncles, Harry was surrounded by several dignitaries, politicians and close friends.

His lawyer David Sherbourne was present, while former army officer Mark Dyer, who helped mentor Harry, especially after his mother’s death, was also in the congregation.

Prince Harry is expected to return to the United States today.
