The vast majority of migrant flights that President Joe Biden’s White House transports directly from foreign countries to U.S. airports to avoid the southern border land in Florida.
A new analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reveals that 326,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela have arrived in Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ state since the program began in January 2023.
Lawyers for Biden’s immigration agencies refused to disclose through a FOIA request data on which airports were receiving undocumented immigrants, claiming it would compromise security and create national security ‘vulnerabilities’.
While the latest analysis reveals the eight cities with the highest number of arrivals, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed last month that flights landed at at least 43 different US airports from January to December 2023.
A new analysis reveals which US cities the most migrants arrive at thanks to President Joe Biden’s program, which transports up to 30,000 undocumented immigrants each month to be released into the US.
Members of the Texas National Guard install more barbed wire-covered border fencing in El Paso, Texas, on Tuesday as migrants rush toward the border barrier to gain illegal access to the U.S.
Texas is already bearing the brunt of the immigration crisis with thousands of illegal immigrants entering across the southern border every day. But the Lone Star State is also receiving the second-highest number of immigrants through Biden’s flight program.
As of February, 21,964 undocumented immigrants have been flown to Houston since January of last year. Nearly 13,000 were flown to California through the Los Angeles or San Francisco airports.
The rest of the nearly 15,000 immigrants who managed to enter the U.S. through this program during the period arrived at airports in Boston, Massachusetts; Atlanta Georgia; Baltimore, Maryland; and Chicago, Illinois.
The New York Field Office, which includes JFK and LaGuardia airports, recorded 33,408 OFO encounters with inadmissible aliens of the chosen nationalities of Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela, Todd Bensman’s analysis notes.
The CNHV program was created as a way for migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela to avoid crossing the southern border and give Biden an optics victory by quelling the number of shocking images.
To help prevent immigrants from seeking asylum en masse after entering illegally, Texas National Guard soldiers are placing even more fencing along the border barrier in El Paso, Texas.
Biden’s Department of Homeland Security insists its CHNV program is not secret in nature.
But the volume and location of arriving immigrants had not previously been disclosed, and CIS had to file a FOIA request to obtain information about the program and do its own analysis to reveal where immigrants were landing in the US.
CHNV allows 30,000 immigrants to apply for asylum through the CBP One app each month and will fly with taxpayer dollars to the US, as long as they have a sponsor who passes a background check. Undocumented immigrants are given a two-year grace period to obtain status and in the meantime can legally live and work in the country with “humanitarian parole.”
The CIS analysis filters Office of Field Operations (OFO) airport customs officers’ encounters with nationalities in the CHNV program through publicly available information on the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) website.
The situation at the southern border has not improved and now adds to the thousands of migrants arriving by plane paid for with US taxpayer dollars each month.
Texas state police are confronting migrants after hundreds of asylum seekers broke through barbed wire to enter the United States illegally last month.
While the data shows where most of these migrants are flying to, it does not necessarily represent the individuals’ final destinations.
The CNHV program was initially implemented to help relieve pressure at southern border crossings with Mexico, where thousands of asylum seekers arrive daily to become border agents.
But Republicans and border hawks are not happy with bypassing the border as a way to create the perception that the crisis is quelled. They claim that the program instead allows hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants to be released into the United States each year, and this time with taxpayer money.
Biden’s plan to divert the crisis from the southern border did not work and now migrants are entering the US en masse both through the border crossing and in the CNHV program.
Last month, shocking images emerged as state police and the Texas National Guard clashed with hundreds of migrants rushing to cross a border point in El Paso, Texas.
