José Mourinho will have a squad full of Premier League experience once his imminent appointment as Fenerbahce’s new manager is announced.
The Portuguese coach, who has been out of work since being sacked by Roma in January, confirmed on Saturday that he would fly to Turkey today to finalize a deal with the Super Lig team.
Fenerbahce have been posting updates throughout the day, including a photo of their arrival in Istanbul, and the deal is expected to be officially announced tonight.
The 61-year-old has landed in Turkey and it seems that the official announcement will be made in the next few hours.
Mourinho’s arrival will come after Fener finished brutally second in the league despite amassing a mammoth 99 points, three points less than bitter rivals Galatasaray.

Mourinho will also have the option of former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi leading the line.
He will be tasked with bringing glory back to Istanbul and will already meet some of the club’s players from their time in the Premier League.
The former Manchester United midfielder is one of the players Mourinho will know well after signing the Brazilian during his reign at Old Trafford.
The 31-year-old was a regular starter for Fener and contributed three goals and eight assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.
Former Manchester City striker Eden Dzeko, 38, remains prolific despite his age, scoring 25 goals and assisting 10 in 46 appearances since his move to Turkey last summer.
The Bosnian shared minutes with Chelsea cult hero Michy Batshuayi, who has been at the club for the last two years.

Joshua King made over 200 top-flight appearances and played for Bournemouth, Everton and Watford.

Mourinho will also be able to draw on the experiences of Turkish duo Caglar Soyuncu and Cengiz Under, who played for Leicester in recent seasons.
Meanwhile, Joshua King has made more than 200 top-flight appearances, having played for Bournemouth, Everton and Watford, and will be at Mourinho’s disposal.
The experienced Dusan Tadic, 35, could be Mourinho’s creative outlet after assisting 14 goals this season, the third-most in the division.
The Serbian international spent four years at Southampton and made 134 league appearances before joining Ajax in 2018.
