It might be known as the ‘nerd prom,’ but the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner is possibly the closest Washington, D.C., gets to the Oscars, with plenty of elegant dresses on display along the carpet red.

The dinner, which will be held just days before the glitzy Met Gala in New York City, features a mix of media, political and Hollywood figures on the guest list.

DailyMail.com columnist Lisa ‘Kennedy’ Montgomery was singled out by the New York Times for being one of the best dressed in a colorful tartan number.

It’s no surprise that she caught the newspaper’s attention with Kennedy wearing her trademark thick-rimmed glasses and some Chanel jewelry: a necklace and a chunky bracelet.

Kennedy began writing her popular columns for DailyMail.com in July last year, but she was already well established before arriving at the world’s most popular news website.

‘I hope my brand of no-nonsense rabble keeps readers entertained, intrigued, informed, and coming back for years… or until my key card stops working.
