Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign is now including special pronoun options for job applicants as part of its commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Harris’s campaign application includes nine different pronoun options, including ‘xe/xem,’ ‘ze/hir,’ ‘ey/em,’ ‘fae/faer,’ and ‘hu/hu.’

‘Fae/faer’, indicates a gender fluid person but non-malesometimes of Celtic origin. The pronouns ‘hu/hu’ are gender-neutral third person pronouns. concerning for both a man and a woman.

The other pronouns are considered gender neutral.

“Let the employer know what pronouns you use so they can address you correctly,” the application reads.

There is a tenth option that allows applicants to create their own “custom” pronouns or have the option to ask employers to only refer to them by their “first name.”

The application includes a question for applicants asking them to detail: “How would you contribute to building a diverse culture?”

It also offers potential employees the option to participate in an optional survey “to help us evaluate our diversity and inclusion efforts.”

“Do you identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community?” the form asks.

Harris has long been considered a leader on the issue of pronouns, beginning during her failed 2020 presidential campaign.

During a CNN presidential forum on LGBTQ issues, Harris proclaimed early in her term that “my pronouns are she, her, and hers.”

The vice president also identified her pronouns after taking office.

In a conference call with gay activists in June 2021, Harris again identified her pronouns as “she” and “her,” repeating this during a disability event in 2022 and adding for visually impaired people that she was the “woman in the blue suit.”

Harris has made a special effort to spread awareness about the LGBT community during her 2024 campaign, appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race in July to encourage viewers to vote.

“We’re all in this together and your vote is your power,” he said.

He also invited the cast and crew of the television show Queer Eye in June to visit the White House and film a promotional video for the administration.
