An awkward Brittany Mahomes showed up to ask her husband Patrick: ‘Do you know this song?’
His awkward moment next to Taylor comes after the two did not sit together for the Chiefs’ NFL opener on Thursday, sparking talk of a possible rift between them following Mahomes’ recent “like” of Donald Trump’s Instagram post.
While Swift’s most loyal followers and some tennis fans were amazed by her singing alongside Kelce, others criticized the couple for a lack of “decorum” and for putting on a show for the cameras in New York.
One user wrote on X: ‘Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are an absolute embarrassment at the US Open, this seems completely forced and unnatural.’
Another commented: “No other couple in the celebrity world loves the cameras so much. We still can’t believe it.”
“If you can’t see that Taylor is being overly dramatic and making a spectacle of herself, you’re hopeless,” said a third. “No one behaves like a 15-year-old on her first drunken binge at the US Open. It’s the US Open, not a football game in a seedy bar. Maybe she’s just anti-class trash, I don’t know.”
One fan responded to that post and agreed: “That’s what I was saying! Do you see other couples kissing in the stands? Like you said, it’s the US Open, not a football game. Have some decorum.”

While one simply said: ‘incredibly embarrassing’.

After failing to sit together that night, many wondered if Taylor and Brittany were on good terms amid the controversy over the latter liking a Trump Instagram post last month.
Swift has publicly condemned Trump in the past, meaning many have questioned whether Mahomes’ endorsement of the former president could mean the end of their friendship.
However, the best friends put any rumours of a feud to rest when they were spotted hugging each other alongside their man at the US Open final.
Mother-of-two Brittany also came under fire after admitting she didn’t know The Darkness’s hugely popular tune.
‘This isn’t Brittany asking Patrick “do you know this song?” one person commented with a bunch of laughing emojis.
Taylor and Brittany put to rest any rumors about a possible breakup between them by hugging each other.
“She’s lame,” someone else replied, while another user added, “I don’t need any more reasons to hate the Mahomes.”

A fifth said: “Brittany is so (tired). Go to bed, girl.”
“In a world of Patricks and Brittanys, be Taylor and Travis,” another person wrote.
—Brittany, just pretend you know the song even if you don’t —another person suggested.
