The three-part docuseries will air on October 23 and will include interviews with people who knew Allen, along with Voigt (pictured) as the interview subject.

Netflix has hired a convicted stalker who was also accused of soliciting prostitution to serve as an expert in an upcoming docuseries about the Zodiac Killer.

Tom Voigt is considered a leading expert on the serial killer who terrorized California in the late 1960s and has run a blog tracking updates on the investigation for the better part of 30 years.

But his obsession with the case – and his own past criminal behavior – has come under scrutiny over the years.

Voigt proposed to his now wife Angie on December 20, 2018 on Lake Herman Road, the site of the first known Zodiac Killer deaths, 50 years to the day the crimes were committed.

In total, the Zodiac Killer, whose identity has never been conclusively revealed, targeted at least seven victims, five of whom died.

He taunted officials with letters to newspapers, threatening to embark on mass killings. He claimed to have killed 37 victims.

Voigt, from the Oregon city of Columbia, has been following the case on his own blog, along with Reddit threads and social media forums for decades.

DailyMail.com can reveal that in 2005, Voigt was found guilty of four counts of harassment and violating a harassment protection order from a court in Oregon.

He was granted community corrections probation and ordered to complete 160 hours of community service.

Separately, in 1991 Voigt was charged with prostitution, a class A misdemeanor related to the solicitation of sexual services.

Voigt was confronted about the harassment charge in 2018 during a Reddit Q&A related to his work trying to unmask the Zodiac Killer.

Another user wrote: ‘Is he too busy harassing women to answer questions or what is going on…?’

Voigt responded, “I can multitask.”

DailyMail.com sought comment from Netflix about its inclusion in the upcoming documentary and whether producers were aware of Voigt’s beliefs.

They declined to comment.

Voigt has also been criticized for creating a line of merchandise taking advantage of the Zodiac Killer and his victims.
