An Arizona man accused of murdering a former co-worker he harassed at the gym kept a sick notebook detailing his obsession.
The diary of Juan Cuellar, 51, was discovered by police investigating the death of Doris Aguilar, 25.
The two were found dead in a car outside a Phoenix steakhouse on July 7, a week after Aguilar was reported missing by his panicked family.
Police said Cuellar had killed her before shooting himself after what her family says was a campaign of harassment that lasted more than a year.
The notebook contains chilling notes that shed more light on the extent of Cuellar’s obsession, although investigators noted that many of the notes were false.
Doris Maricela Aguilar, 25, was found dead along with her stalker on July 7, a week after her disappearance.
“It took me a little while to read the notebook, which gives a completely different dynamic of what happened than maybe some of the evidence showed,” Phoenix Police Sergeant Rob Scherer said. AZ Family.
One of the entries appears to reference the murder and appears to have been accidental.
‘She picked it up. She didn’t know the safety was off. I went to grab the gun and it went off. I panicked and left. “I knew it was going to be my fault,” Cuellar wrote.
However, the police refuted the statement saying that the gun found inside the vehicle does not have a lock.
Chillingly, he then details how to drive with the victim and change his clothes so he doesn’t get dirty.
“I couldn’t stand to be without her in my life,” Cuellar wrote in another entry, allegedly suggesting he was angry that she was dating other men.
‘I hope she can forgive me. Please tell my family it was an accident,” reads one of the last entries.
Police discovered a notebook full of chilling notes written by her alleged killer, Juan Cuellar, detailing his sick obsession.
His body was discovered along with Cuellar’s inside a car parked outside this steakhouse in Phoenix.
Other strange writings included delusions about a daughter they shared who does not appear to exist.
“I can tell you there was no element of a romantic relationship at the time of the homicide,” Scherer said. “We don’t have any information about any children in common between the two,” Scherer said.
Aguilar was reported missing on July 1 after she did not show up to the gym where she spent much of her time.
Her family immediately suspected that her former coworker Cuellar might be the culprit after he sent her harassing messages.
The two met while working at a distribution center before Cuellar was fired for his threatening behavior.
The stalker would appear in the parking lot of the gym Aguilar attended, forcing her to change gyms three times, according to a private investigator the family hired to try to track her down.
Just days before Aguilar mysteriously disappeared on June 27, the alleged stalker seemed to indicate that he knew which facility she was now attending.
Her worried family had reported her missing a week earlier and immediately suspected Cuellar might be involved after harassing her at several gyms.
On June 27, just days before Aguilar mysteriously disappeared, an alleged stalker wrote on a Facebook page with a gun as his profile picture that he was going to get his membership back, presumably to the gym Aguilar frequented.
He wrote on a Facebook page with a gun as his profile picture: “Getting my membership back…(see you) soon,” Fox 10 reports.
Aguilar’s car was eventually found abandoned on July 8 in a shopping center near the intersection of Interstate 17 and Bethany Home Road.
The car was open and inside her purse and wallet were full of cash.
Police said Cuellar killed Aguilar before taking his own life a few days later, although they can’t be sure where exactly he died.
Their bodies in a serious state of decomposition were later found in the same vehicle.
Aguilar’s family says Cuellar’s obsession is what led to the murder.
‘They have their belief as the why. “Our researchers are still trying to get to that point,” Scherer said.
Aguilar’s family and Steve Fischer, a private investigator, believe Cuellar had been Aguilar for more than a year.
The notebook contained some entries that were false, including delusions about a daughter they both shared who does not appear to exist.
Private investigator Steve Fischer said the harassment had gone on for more than a year.
According to Fischer, Cuellar was so obsessed with Aguilar that he kept showing up at gyms where she worked out.
“He was obsessed to the point that he had a photo of her taped to the back of his cell phone,” Fischer said.
