The least expensive vacation destinations in the US have been named, and the winner is not only gorgeous but also costs just $91.44 a night.
A recent study of Optimal Travel named the best US travel spots where you can get the most bang for your buck.
The first place is occupied by the Outer Banks, a series of islands off the coast of the US state of North Carolina.
The Outer Banks is famous for its open ocean beaches, state parks, and wreck dive sites, all of which make it a great spring or summer vacation spot for the whole family.
According to the study, a vacation to the Outer Banks costs about $177 a day, meaning a week-long stay would cost approximately $1,237.

‘With the lowest accommodation costs of $91.44, combined with $60 meals and attractions totaling $11.27, the daily cost per person is just $177. A week’s stay here… for a family of four (works out) for just $3,247.90, proving that paradise doesn’t have to cost a fortune.’
Aaron Tuell of the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau said the spot became particularly popular with travelers after the hit Netflix series hit screens in April 2020, joking that it was a great promotion for the area. .
Tuell admitted that he believes the television show, starring Chase Stokes and Madelyn Clyne, attracted a lot of new people to the Outer Banks.
He said fox5 that the show raised global awareness about the “big secret” that is the value you get from an Outer Banks vacation.
“The Outer Banks have never been better,” he said. “We’ve seen crazy growth come in and start to slow down to get back to normal.”
Tuell said local businesses, property management companies and hotels have been able to refine their business models and create a great vacation experience for visitors.
“Our homes are family properties,” Tuell said, adding that the Bureau has come up with a plan to ensure the Outer Banks sticks to its roots as it expands and changes in the coming decades.
Second on the list is Charleston, West Virginia (pictured), which costs about $1,242 a week.
Other destinations included on the list were Sedona, Arizona (pictured) and Helen, Georgia.
