Revealed: Ellie Goulding, 36, is ending her ‘friendship’ with Tory counterpart Zac Goldsmith, 48, so she can focus on her marriage to art dealer Caspar Jopling
Ellie Goulding has ended her close friendship with Zac Goldsmith to focus on her marriage, the Mail can reveal.
The two had bonded after parting ways with their partners – and Lord Goldsmith even started making a sculpture for the singer.
But Ms Goulding, 36, wants to focus on her marriage to art dealer Caspar Jopling, 31.
The couple welcomed their first child, Arthur, in 2021. A close friend of Lord Goldsmith said the Tory peer had a relationship with pop star Ms Goulding.

The source added, “It happened regardless of the marital issues on both sides, and it is now categorically over.
“The relationship has nothing to do with either marriage breaking up, but Ellie wants to fix her marriage for their son’s sake and Zac is fully focused on his environmental work.”
Ms Goulding’s management has repeatedly denied that she and Lord Goldsmith were together, or that they had spoken outside of the work they do together on the environment.
However, they reportedly developed a good friendship after they first met at the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow. Seven months later, they were spotted having lunch together at the upscale The Garden cafe in Covent Garden.
In October 2022 we spent the evening at the same party at the exclusive private club at 5 Hertford Street, owned by Lord Goldsmith’s half-brother Robin Birley, and most recently we were seen laughing together near the Tory Peer’s new home in West London. , in which he moved after his separation from his second wife Alice Rothschild.
Last week, Lord Goldsmith, 48, shared on social media a bronze sculpture he had carved for Ms Goulding, with the following message: “The subjects I love, mainly animal or human love. .. at the moment it is only part of a larger sculpture”. it will be a tree of life”.
A source says he intends to give the artwork to Ms Goulding once it is completed.

The friendship between the pair had been described as unlikely, as Lord Goldsmith is the son of the late billionaire financier Sir James Goldsmith, educated at Eton, while Ms Goulding grew up on a municipal estate in Herefordshire.
However, the singer has made many friends in high society, including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie who were guests at her star-studded wedding to Mr Jopling at York Minster in 2019.
Lord Goldsmith was previously married to another environmentalist, Sheherazade Bentley, but they separated in 2010.
He resigned as minister in June after accusing Rishi Sunak of not caring about the environment.
A spokesperson for Mr. Goldsmith declined to comment.
