The graphic reveals eight routes across Europe “where traveling by bus is better than flying”, including the popular London to Manchester journey.
The table, by travel website BusBudclaims that the fastest bus journey from London to Manchester is 3 hours 55 minutes, compared to an average flight time of 4 hours 12 minutes, when airport waiting time is taken into account.
The bus time quoted, as discovered by MailOnline Travel, is for the London Golders Green to Manchester Airport service with National Express.
BusBud also compares costs, noting that travelers can pay as little as £9 for a bus ticket from London to Manchester, with an average flight cost of £231, although it’s possible to fly for as little as £32 depending on the date and the airline. .
Dublin to Donegal is another route where bus travel could be faster and cheaper, according to BusBud. A bus between the two Irish cities could take just 3 hours and 15 minutes at a cost of £21, compared to an average flight and airport waiting time of 4 hours and 18 minutes at a cost of £59.
Amsterdam to Brussels by bus could take just 2 hours 45 minutes (£7), according to BusBud, compared to an average flight and airport time of 4 hours 20 minutes (£466).
Traveling between the two main cities of Munich and Innsbruck can take just 2 hours and 9 minutes by bus (£15), according to BusBud. That’s much faster than the average flight and airport time of 6 hours and 6 minutes (£50).

And the bus journey between the two main Portuguese cities of Lisbon and Porto can take just 3 hours 15 minutes (£5), compared to a plane and airport journey of 3 hours 21 minutes (£49).
Meanwhile, traveling between Munich and Prague by bus could take tourists just 4 hours 30 minutes (£21), compared to 4 hours 41 minutes (£171) between the two cities by plane with waiting time at the airport .
