Buffalo Bills running back Nyheim Hines is projected to be out for the entire 2023 season with a knee injury after a freak accident while water skiing, according to multiple reports.
Hines was reportedly sitting motionless on a jet ski when he was struck by another rider and sustained injuries requiring surgery, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Initial reports said Hines suffered a “major off-site knee injury.” The surgery will effectively end the running back’s season and comeback specialist before he starts.
While he was projected to be the fourth running back behind the likes of James Cook, Damien Harris, and Latavius Murray, Hines was projected to be the kickoff returner and punt returner for Buffalo.
Hines turned in a memorable performance in the week 18 game against the New England Patriots, the first game Buffalo played after Damar Hamlin’s collapse.
