WWE star Becky Lynch has described how a relationship with a fellow WWE star failed before she hit the big time.
Lynch is one of the biggest stars in WWE today and will face Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania this weekend in one of the biggest matches of her career.
She rose to stardom quickly after debuting in the company in 2013, becoming one of the biggest and most famous wrestlers of all time and continues to go from strength to strength after her return three years ago.
Married to fellow WWE star and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Lynch took more than a year off when she became pregnant with the couple’s daughter in 2020, and returned at SummerSlam in 2021 to defeat Bianca Belair.
Although she is now arranged with Rollins, it wasn’t always that way, as she revealed in her new biography The Man: Not Your Average Girl.
Becky Lynch spoke openly about dating another current WWE star several years ago.
Lynch and Finn Balor (pictured) became closer after working together in Ireland before becoming global stars.
They both now work in WWE, but once went their separate ways due to Balor moving to Japan.
Lynch was referring to fellow Irish star Finn Balor, as the veteran trained her in her early days before becoming a megastar in her own right.
The couple dated several years ago, but their lives made it difficult for them, since Balor was going to fight in Japan and Lynch was still going to Ireland.
“When he left, I knew it was over between us,” he wrote. ‘The distance was too great and in the last few months I had become demanding, clingy and at the same time afraid of losing him.
He was about to make his dream come true and I wasn’t a part of it.
There were few fighters in Ireland when Balor, now 42, began training, and the star eventually helped out at local wrestling schools and launched The Fight Factory alongside Paul Tracey.
Although the pair eventually became close, Lynch wrote in his book that he thought Balor originally seemed like “a real idiot.” Now, however, it could be argued that The Judgment Day member was the main person who helped shape Lynch’s career.
Balor’s departure to Japan was apparently what caused them to split, while Lynch headed to the United States to pursue his wrestling dream. Both stars would eventually end up as major players in WWE.

Both will be in action at WrestleMania this weekend, with Lynch attempting to defeat Ripley and win her last title in the company.
Meanwhile, Balor will team up with faction partner Damian Priest to defend their tag team titles in a six-team ladder match against Awesome Truth, New Catch Republic, DIY, The New Day and A Town Down Under.
The Irishman’s participation was momentarily in doubt on Monday when he shared a video of a strange injury he had suffered at a house show the previous day, although he is expected to be OK to perform.
