Reuters selects his best image from 2019 from 161 countries that photographers have visited this year

And to mark the end of the decade, the news agency has compiled a stunning collection of photos from all over the world.

By choosing one image from 161 countries, the results show what a turbulent year 2019 has been, from extreme weather conditions such as Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas to political protests in Chile in October.

In Europe, Germany marked the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall by reflecting on a gigantic photo of the city showing where the gap was and in France, paratroopers jumped 75 years since D-Day.
