Return of the budgie smugglers! Mike Tindall dons TINY trunks inspired by I’m a Celeb

Date:

Along with his regal anecdotes and cheeky sense of humour, Mike Tindall’s collection of parakeet smugglers won him a legion of fans last year during his I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here jungle.

The 44-year-old father of three often left little to the imagination at camp, leading other participants to wonder if Mike stole his wife Zara’s bikini bottoms.

This week, the former rugby star found an excuse to debut a very special pair when he flew to Ibiza to watch his podcast co-host James Haskell perform a DJ set.

Mike and James, 38, were joined by sports presenter Alex Payne, 42, who co-hosts The Good, the Bad and the Rugby with them.

During their flying visit, the trio posed for a group photo – which James, who is married to Chloe Madeley, posted to Instagram.

The photo – which appears to have been taken in a locker room – shows both Mike and James wearing nothing but a pair of parakeet smugglers.

While James opted for a neon pink and yellow pair, Mike dressed in a personalized design.

The tiny swimsuit had a jungle-themed green background and featured Mike’s promotional photo taken just before he started the reality series last November.

Meanwhile, their co-star Alex remained fully dressed in a suit jacket and white linen trousers as he stood between the two former players.

James captioned the photo: “Another day, another The Good, The Bad, and the Rugby afternoon of fun in Ibiza.”

The post garnered more than 9,900 likes in its first 12 hours and left James’ 544,000 followers in hysterics.

“Alex’s smile is so awkward,” Chloe remarked. “Tinds’ skin-toned face placed there is more awkward.”

Another joked, “Magic Mike the Poundland version!”

Commenting on how out of place Alex looked, a third commented, “When you didn’t get the memo with the dress code…”

Last November, Mike placed third on the hit reality series and was greeted by Zara Tindall right after he left camp.

Due to its success, the father of three even launched his own range of Budgie Smugglers – with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Cure Parkinson charity.

Two pairs of trunks were available, one featuring the scenic backdrop of blue skies and the I’m A Celeb jungle, and another featuring a leafy green pattern.

Both pairs have ‘Vanilla Mike’ written on the front.

The back of the blue pair reads ‘These don’t belong to my wife…’ while the other reads ‘Nibble my nuts’.

They sold for £35 a pair and the profits went directly to Cure Parkinson’s to help boost their research into a cure for the disease.

Mike caused quite a stir when he stuffed his muscular figure into a brightly colored tropical swimsuit for a swim in the camp creek, leaving little to the imagination –

Series winner Jill Scott later told the Bush Telegraph that even the “freezing” water couldn’t stop the Royal from donning his snazzy swimsuit.

She said, “It’s freezing in there [the creek] but nothing stops Mike from turning up in his little parakeet smugglers.

He’s got a few different pairs from what I can see and he’s getting more confident and showing them on a daily basis.”

Mike was accused of wearing his wife Zara’s bikini bottoms by cheeky hosts Ant & Dec.

After the Rugby star took another dip in the creek, the camera cut to the co-hosts as Ant teased: ‘I’ll tell you what came as a shock, what about those swimwear?

‘I want to know what Zara thought about that… “That’s where my bikini bottoms went!”.
