Amanda Goff, formerly known as Samantha X, was rushed to hospital with a heart problem.
The 49-year-old shared an update on Instagram from her hospital bed on Monday after succumbing to the disease.
In her caption, Amanda revealed that she had been diagnosed with non-sustained ventricular tachycardia (NSVT).
According Very good health, NSVT is an “abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmia) that begins in the lower chambers of the heart (ventricle).”
The condition becomes dangerous when it also develops into supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), which is a “heart rhythm disorder that causes a very fast or erratic heartbeat,” according to Mayo Clinic.
Amanda explained that she had both problems and had to undergo surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney.
“Guys, this is a SUPER IMPORTANT post for you. I have been diagnosed with a heart condition called Non-Obstructive Ventricular Tachycardia (SVT). It is serious, life-threatening, and treatable,” she wrote in the caption.
“It all happened so fast – I was diagnosed on Friday and had surgery on Monday. NEVER ignore any symptoms. Mine were feeling weak and almost fainting after exercise.”

‘Ladies, please don’t dismiss the faint feeling as being caused by hormones or your period, etc. If it keeps happening, get checked out NOW.’
Amanda went on to explain what the future holds for her in terms of continued treatment.
“I will be able to lead a completely normal life; at worst, a defibrillator; at best, medication,” he said.
“So there you have it, you can be fit, not drink alcohol and all the rest, but never, ever be complacent. Get yourself tested NOW if you have even the slightest suspicion that something is wrong. Your body doesn’t lie,” he added.
