In social media photos that have resurfaced, Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Amelia Spencer, and her new husband, Greg Mallet, look like no other young couple in the throes of first love.
The couple – who married in a lavish ceremony in South Africa last month – first met through mutual friends in Cape Town 13 years ago.
Although the newlyweds are now prolific Instagram users and boast 65,000 followers between them, Amelia and Greg documented the early days of their romance on their Facebook pages.
Greg, who now works as a fitness trainer, first appeared on Amelia’s Facebook in January 2010 – shortly after she left £14,000-a-year Reddam House School.

The couple wasn’t afraid to show their funny side in the photos shared of the first few years of their relationship.
When I first met him, Amelia’s husband had long blonde hair and was often photographed wearing chunky sunglasses and tank tops.
Meanwhile, Lady Amelia — who was 18 at the time — wore bright blonde tones, and black eyeliner made her signature look.
Princess Diana’s niece seemed to be enjoying her school years – photos were uploaded to their public pages showing the couple enjoying a night out with friends.

In July 2020, Lady Amelia Spencer became engaged to her long-term boyfriend Greg Mallet after a romantic proposal in South Africa.
The social beauty, who is the cousin of Princes William and Harry, met her real estate beau while they were studying at the University of Cape Town.
The couple had been together for 11 years before Greg, 32, popped the question at the exclusive Clouds Wine & Guest Estate in Stellenbosch.

Greg announced their engagement on Instagram: “It was the best day of my life. July 22, 2020 I asked the love of my life to spend the rest of her life with me and she said yes.
I couldn’t be happier and I love you with all my heart @ameliaspencer15.
Speaking to Hello magazine shortly afterwards, Greg explained how he gave Amelia a pink box — which contained eight smaller boxes.
In each box, he said, was a photograph of “the first time.” The last box contained a note in place of a picture that said, “But most importantly, I know you’ll remember tonight the night I proposed.”
As Amelia was reading the note, she fell to one knee with the ring.
“I burst into tears,” Amelia added. I was in shock, I said, “Yeah, yeah, yeah!” And he hugged and kissed him. I’m used to Greg being very romantic but I really had no idea.
Charles, the late Princess of Wales’ younger brother, had previously revealed that Greg asked for his blessing before he proposed in South Africa.
‘So happy for my daughter, Amelia, who is engaged to her boyfriend of 11 years, Greg – great to hear they are both so excited about their future,’ he said on Twitter last year.
We send them both love, and every good wish for their life together. I love that Greg asked for my blessing before he proposed. so sweet.’
In 2021, the South African couple moved to London shortly after Amelia’s older sister Kitty’s wedding in Rome – with the festivities spread out over four days.
The couple tied the knot in a private setting at Quoin Rock Manor House atop a mountain in the wine lands of the Western Cape, South Africa on March 21.
The bride wore a custom Versace dress that took over two and a half months to complete.
Talking to Welcome After their ceremony, Greg said, “My love for Amelia has been reborn.
“Every day I fall in love with this beautiful human being next to me.”
