Residents of a small Florida community are outraged over an alleged drug trafficking house that they say police are unable to control.
Angry Silver Springs residents contacted local media News 6 due to being plagued with problems from home at all hours of the day.
Beth Campbell told the outlet: ‘We see people coming in and out of our neighborhood, at all hours of the day and all hours of the night in their vehicles.
“We see them coming and going on bikes. We see them walking down our streets, tripping and falling because they’re on drugs.”
Campbell isn’t the only one concerned about the comings and goings at the home; the outlet also spoke to other residents.
Angry Silver Springs residents, seen here, reached out to local outlet News 6 because they were plagued by problems at home at all hours of the day.
Beth Campbell, seen here, said she was afraid to even let her grandchildren out into her yard because of the activity.
Carol Lane told the outlet she has resorted to putting bars on her windows out of fear.
She added: “It’s really mind-blowing, trying to sleep and someone knocking on your house. You worry: is someone in trouble? Can I help?”
While Timothy Santrock said drugs are not the only crime, and robberies have increased in the area.
He said: ‘I’ve had hitches stolen from my vehicle. I’ve had a generator stolen from under my house.
“If it’s not secured properly, it will be stolen. Nothing is safe in this neighborhood.”
Campbell added that she was afraid to even let her grandchildren out into her yard because of the activity.
She said: ‘ Our children and grandchildren often come to our house and we are afraid to let them go out into our yards.
The outlet reached out to local Sheriff Billy Woods for comment, but he declined to be interviewed.
Campbell isn’t the only one concerned about the comings and goings at the home, the outlet also spoke to other residents.
According to locals, things have now calmed down and police patrols have increased.
His spokesman confirmed that he is aware of the problems in the area and that concerns are being addressed.
That same day, the outlet reported that a search warrant was executed at the home.
Investigators discovered cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and used needles inside the address.
Three people have been arrested, including David Biaza, accused of manufacturing and selling crack from his home.
Two other men, Donald Burns and Lance Shackelford, were also arrested on felony drug charges.
According to locals, the situation has now calmed down and police patrols have increased.
Campbell said: “We hope it continues like this, but I think everyone can say that we are glad we had Channel 6 come on board to help us out.
