Rescue workers head for the sea and land for a British jet skier missing three days ago off the coast of Tenerife.

Search teams on Tenerife are desperately looking for the 23-year-old man who disappeared from his jet ski off a beach in the south of the island.

The search has been going on for the past three days since it disappeared around 11.30 am on Saturday morning.

The Spanish authorities today only confirmed that the missing man is British.

Divers are still searching for the coastal areas of Palm Mar, just a few kilometers from the famous resort of Los Cristianos.

They are accompanied by lifeboats and helicopters. Emergency services have also called on the help of professional diving volunteers to support the search under water.

The missing Brit wore red shorts and is thought to have jumped from the jet ski into the sea to take a dip in the water.

The warning was given when he did not return. The jet ski was found abandoned later.

The British consulate said officials are helping and supporting his family and friends while the search continues.

Rescue attempts began immediately after the warning, but were canceled every night since no trace was found.

The police also comb the beaches and rocky areas of the coastline.
