Republicans Quietly Subpoena Bank of America Over Hunter Biden Business Partners’ Bank Records
Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin revealed in a searing letter that House Oversight Committee Republicans have subpoenaed a Hunter Biden associate seeking years-old financial information.
Raskin (D-Md.) accused the chairman of the Republican panel, Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, of conducting a “political raid” that sought to “pry” into John R. Walker’s private details through the broad subpoena. He says a trio of subpoenas seeks “all financial records” of three people over a “staggering period of 14 years.”
Raskin seems to have learned of the summons from the majority, but reprimanded Comer in his letterdated Sunday, for exceeding a usual 48-hour notification period.
And he accuses Comer of prying into the private details of Walker, who participated in a joint venture with Chinese firm CEFC Energy, part of what Comer portrays as a web of entanglements that benefit members of the Biden family.
The House Oversight Committee has subpoenaed a Hunter Biden associate seeking financial information as part of its investigation into the business practices of Biden family members and associates.
These include “how much you pay for your child’s dance lessons, when he’s been in the hospital, how many parking tickets he’s paid, how often he eats at Papa John’s or drinks coffee at Starbucks, and how much he spends on groceries at Safeway,” according to Raskin, revealing that the subpoena included a joint family checking account.
He said the letter required the production of a document of thousands of pages of private financial information, including a decade of bank statements for the checking account.
Raskin called the subpoena “too broad.” He also noted that Comer had sought documents from the “estranged mother of Hunter Biden’s son” who sued him for paternity and child support, a reference to Lunden Alexis Roberts.
Bank of America had turned over a “considerable amount of material,” a source said. CNN.
Walker held positions in the administrations of Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, and has previously been identified in a Senate Republican Report about Hunter Biden.
Tony Bobulinski, who accused members of the Biden family of corruption and appeared at a presidential debate in the fall of 2020, identified Walker as “very, very close” to the Biden family. He said that he helped develop an agreement with CEFC China Energy.
Raskin then accused Oversight Republicans of trying to “bury” Trump’s tax information, after Democrats prevailed in the Supreme Court following a multi-year saga to obtain years of tax information on former President Donald Trump.
The panel finally received and released six years of Trump tax information in December 2022, weeks before handing over the committee’s gavel. The documents showed that Trump did not pay taxes in 2020 as his income fell.

Raskin accused House Republicans of running a ‘drag net’ to harm President Biden and get a political ‘opposition investigation’ for Trump.
He referenced a $2 billion Saudi investment in the firm of Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Raskin called Comer’s letter seeking information from Lunden Roberts, who is suing Hunter Biden for paternity, a “low blow.”
He referenced reports that foreign governments, including Saudi Arabia, China and China, “spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Trump-owned property” while Trump was in office.
He then accused Republicans of acting “in coordination” with Trump’s lawyers “to bury evidence of such misconduct.”
He then referenced an email from Trump’s attorney, Patrick Strawbridge, on January 19, 2023, after the Republican Party took over, to the accounting firm Mazars, which had submitted documents to Congress under an agreement judicial.

“I do not know the status of Mazars (sic) production, but it is my understanding that the Committee has no interest in forcing Mazars to complete it and is willing to release it from further obligations under the settlement agreement,” Strawbridge wrote, according to a report. email cited by Raskin.
Comer has previously announced a widespread investigation into members of the Biden family. businessand wrote in a statement last month: “If President Biden is compromised by deals with foreign adversaries and they are affecting his decision-making, this is a threat to national security.”
The White House has repeatedly said that Biden had no knowledge of his family members’ dealings.
