The GOP congressman ripped into Washington, DC’s “soft-on-crime” policies.

“In Washington, D.C. and cities across the country, anti-police and soft-on-crime policies have created lawless societies that endanger the public and reinforce criminal behavior. It’s time to start treating criminals like criminals and bring back common sense policies that lock up career criminals, keep the public safe and allow our police officers to properly protect our communities and keep violent criminals out of out on the streets.

Finstad himself played second base in the Congressional baseball game, where the Republicans prevailed over the Democrats 16-6.

Crime is on the rise in the district: auto theft is up 120%, violent crime is up 21%, and total crime is up 28% at this point in 2023 compared to 2022.

Last month, a baseball bat-wielding suspect left two of Democratic Rep. Gerry Connelly’s staffers in hospital after a brutal attack at his Virginia office in a DC suburb.

Prior to that, a staffer of Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., was stabbed in broad daylight in northeast DC

The seemingly random attack took place on H Street – a busy shopping center lined with bars and restaurants.
