Sydney Sweeney discussed details of the upcoming third and final season of the HBO series Euphoria.

While promoting her new film Immaculate, the 26-year-old actress shared MTV‘I’m going into Euphoria’ when asked if she’ll be taking a break from work soon.

“I always feel like I’m going home,” she noted of returning to director Sam Levinson’s set.

‘It’s like home when I return to it. I like it. I’m excited, it’s like family,’ she explained.

Returning to the series alongside Sweeney are costars Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Nika King, Alexa Demie and more.

The show will return in 2025, HBO chairman and CEO Casey Bloys confirmed last November.

The first two seasons of Levinson’s racy series starred Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Demie, Elordi, the late Angus Cloud, Barbie Ferreira and Dominic Fike.

During a fall press event, bits from the successful show were shown in a reel.

Included with the excerpts was a note that read: “Coming in 2025.”

The delay is due in part to the now resolved WGA strike and the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Levinson and Zendaya’s busy schedules also contributed to the delay.

Last August, Levinson teased limited details about the upcoming installment in an interview with Elle.

The director offered insight into what would happen to Zendaya’s character Rue during the show’s new run of episodes, revealing that her role would be to ‘explore what it means to be a principled individual in a corrupt world.’

He further noted that he envisions the show leaning on “film noir.”

Levinson also praised Zendaya’s work ethic and her dedication to pushing herself as a performer.

‘She is the most competitive person I know, in a good way. She is constantly growing as an artist and is always looking for a challenge. She is never complacent, he said.

Zendaya has starred as the drug-addicted teenager since Euphoria debuted on HBO in 2019.

The first season of the show ran for eight episodes and was followed by a pair of specials released in 2020 and 2021.

Euphoria’s second season premiered in 2022 to critical and commercial acclaim.
