Today, Netflix officially announced that Sweet Tooth has been renewed for a third season, which will be the series’ final season.
Network confirmed Netflix The epic finale to Sweet Tooth will unfold across eight episodes, matching the length of the previous two seasons, and that filming has already concluded in New Zealand.
Creator and executive producer Jim Mickle said:
In many ways this is exactly the story I imagined we would tell and in many ways it takes on its own life. At first I thought we set out to tell these iconic pieces of Gus’ story, but the beauty of the long storytelling and Gus’ journey over the course of 24 episodes is much better especially since the characters themselves get their full chance to tell their story in the series.
The upcoming season will follow the events of the second season that premiered on Netflix on April 27, as Gus, Jepperd, Wendy and Bear embark on an adventure in the North Pole. However, Michael warned that the final season of Gus’ journey will be darker than what we’ve seen before.
Sweet Tooth will return for its third and final season later in 2024.
