Remy Ma called a task force within the New York Police Department who is accused of aggressively monitoring high-profile hip-hop artists.
The Enterprise Operations Unit of the NYPD, also known as the Rap Unit, is a special task force that monitors hip-hop shows in the city and believes that they pose a risk of police harm.
The Rap unit team then sends the information to local areas and field officers. These officers then share all information they have about shootings or other criminal proceedings that have taken place in nearby clubs.
Records obtained by the New York Post, shows that officers belonging to the unit are also connected to the New Intro / New Jersey / New Jersey drug trafficking region – a program that uses federal money and resources to perform narcotic operations.
During a show in March 2018, the NYPD showed an agent undercover that Remy Ma was present at Irving Plaza – that was a surprise from a dozen other New York rappers including Lil & Kim; They also had at least 24 officers patrolling outside of the Manhattan location.

Ma & # 39; s lawyer, Dawn Florio, rejected the idea that the two were connected. & # 39; Remy does not know Jahmeek Elliot. Never heard of him, doesn't know him, & Florio said. & # 39; She is not traveling in an environment. She travels with her husband Papoose (pictured with her when they left the court on May 1) and guards & # 39;
Ma – who served six years in prison for a 2007 shooting – was followed by the Rap unit along with a man allegedly a part of her neighborhood, named Jahmeek & # 39; Jah & # 39; Elliot, on March 16 last year.
Neither were sought for a crime at the time of surveillance at Irving Plaza. The & # 39; Wake Me Up & # 39; rapper has been arrested since May because she & # 39; Love & Hip Hop New York & # 39; co-star Brittney Taylor would have attacked during a benefit concert at Irving Plaza in April.
Ma has not pleaded guilty and has been released conditionally for the attack. She is ready to stand trial for the crime on July 12.

However, Elliot was considered a & # 39; person of interest & # 39; because of his suspected ties with the Bronx-based Dub City gang. He has also been arrested 26 times.
He was charged in 2012 for his connection to a violent terror war in which 15 shootings took place, including one that killed a member of the gang, sharing authorities.
Elliot would serve 2.5 years for a conviction for possession of a crime. He was released conditionally in November 2016.
Prior to joining Dub City, Elliot was reportedly & # 39; previously associated with a well-known crew known as the & # 39; Mac Ballas, & # 39; & # 39; according to an undated memo written by officers in the 13th district.
& # 39; Intel has revealed that Jahmeek's new crew company has caused tension with the & # 39; Mac Ballas & # 39; and that retaliation may be possible against him, & # 39; explains the intelligent officer & # 39 ;.

Florio stated that the rapper is not a fan of the & # 39; hip hop police & # 39 ;.
& # 39; My impression of the hip hop police is that they are this shadowy, specialized unit that carries out too aggressive investigations, & she said. & # 39; She constantly stole high-profile rap artists and monitored their movements. & # 39;
But Sgt. Jessica McRorie, a spokeswoman for the NYPD, claimed: & The Enterprise Operations Unit focuses on locations or artists associated with acts of violence from the past – regardless of the musical genre. The primary goal of EOU is to anticipate, based on previous incidents, where there is a high risk of violence and to take steps to prevent people from getting hurt or worse. & # 39;
For the 2018 event at Irving Plaza, Ma organized an afterparty at Club Lust in Sunset Park – a location that the Rap Unit had been watching because of the connection with various acts
She added that the unit helped with & # 39; various major prosecutions & # 39; and & # 39; collects more and more information by responding to shootings and attacks that can occur at all kinds of entertainment locations. & # 39;

Rapper 50 Cent celebrated its birthday at the site in 2017, but for a planned performance at the club in 2016, a Patrol Borough Brooklyn South sergeant handed out to the 72nd Precinct to see if security was needed.
& # 39; Is there a plan in place for 50 Cent that will appear on Thursday at Club Lust? & # 39; the e-mail. It is not known what action the police have taken, if applicable.

The NYPD sent a New Year's Day email alerting the Rap unit of its upcoming & # 39; Trap Tuesday & # 39; performance at the venue the following day. They shared a promotional flyer with the 72nd Precinct.
The rapper from Jersey City, AlBee Al, whose real name is Albert Robinson, was another artist who would appear to Club Lust and had a report made about him.
The Rap unit wrote a five-page & # 39; s report that links the musician to & # 39; multiple recordings in the New Jersey sub-area & # 39; awaiting his performance in July 2016 at the location.

AlBee Al would be a & # 39; well-known BLOOD member & # 39; and the report added that he was acquitted of a murder in June 2014.
The rapper was also said to have suspected or ordered a May 2016 hit in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The altercation resulted in revenge by the victim's brother who injured the rapper.
The report states: "The EOU will continue to observe for future events where Albee Al will be present. In addition, all these future events that are found will be classified as High Events for future weekly entertainment reports.
Black, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, is currently trapped in Miami against federal arms charges
Emails from February 2017 show that the 72nd Precinct & # 39; some concerns & # 39; had a Kodak Black performance at Club Lust.
But Rap Unit officers claimed: & # 39; There is no reason to worry about him. & # 39;
& # 39; Kodak is a loud knucklehead. However, there were no problems with him in NYC. In addition, hes on trial. So if he does anything wrong at all, he immediately goes back to jail and he knows that as well as his people around him. & # 39;
Investigators also noted that Black & # 39; was arrested earlier today for parole violation and is being held without bail in the state of Florida. & # 39;
& # 39; So it's possible and more than likely that we won't even attend this event at Lust. . . If it makes your CO feel better, if he comes out of jail on time (which I doubt) to go to this event, I will contact him and talk to him. & # 39;
& # 39; But like I said, he's just a young boy with a big mouth. He is actually intimidated by NYC. So he just wants to fulfill his contract, and then leave. & # 39;
The performance at Club Lust was eventually canceled. Black, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, is currently trapped in Miami against federal arms charges.
