Two-time Big Brother winner Reggie Bird has shared a brave message with her fans.
The 49-year-old, who is legally blind, took to Instagram on Thursday to tell her followers that she will take each day “as it comes” as she supports her son Lucas’ fight against cystic fibrosis.
“Today is rare disease day,” he began.
‘Both Lucas and I live with a rare health condition… Lucas has cystic fibrosis, a lung disease, and I have retinitis pigmentosa, an eye disease.
‘You both stink beyond words. But we take each day as it comes and never take anything for granted.’

The 49-year-old, who is legally blind, took to Instagram on Thursday to tell her followers that she will approach each day “as it comes” as she supports her son Lucas’s fight against cystic fibrosis.
The popular reality star included a picture of herself hugging her son, Lucas, 14, to her chest.
Reggie’s emotional post had followers flocking to his message board with words of support.
‘They’re both amazing, Reggie. Sending a big hug and love to you both,” said one fan.
“Your champions to me,” wrote another.
‘You’re an amazing person, Reggie,’ one more commented.
‘Doing all this with your vision problems. “You inspire me and have done so for many years,” added another.

It comes after Reggie revealed how she felt “guilty” over her teenage son’s cystic fibrosis diagnosis, which she unknowingly passed on to him.
Making the comments on the Dr. Golly and the Experts podcast last October.
“I have always been to blame for having caused Lucas this illness, so I feel guilty for having transmitted this to him and I would do anything to take it away from him, but I can’t. It’s depressing,” he confessed.
Lucas was diagnosed with the genetic disorder when he was four weeks old and since then, Reggie says he has faced a “relentless” battle to keep his 14-year-old son alive.
Lucas requires daily physiotherapy and must take medication, which can be up to thirty tablets a day.
She said the condition has taken its toll on her family and she now regrets not spending more time with her eldest daughter, 16-year-old Mia.
Meanwhile, Reggie also has to deal with her own health problems, as she is legally blind after being diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a rare degenerative eye disease that causes severe visual impairment.
He also has Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disease that affects both hearing and vision.
