Chelsea captain Reece James has offered fans hope that he can return to action soon with a positive update on his recovery from injury.
James has been plagued by injuries over the last two campaigns, making just 16 Premier League appearances in the 2022-23 season.
He was then limited to just 413 minutes last season after being named club captain before the season.
Reports last month claimed James had suffered a setback in his recovery from a recent hamstring problem, amid suggestions he had failed to heal as expected.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca admitted that James’ return had been delayed, adding that there was no timetable for his return.

James shared a series of photos on social media and declared “hope to see you soon.”

James’ update not only received attention from Chelsea fans, but several Blues stars expressed their excitement over his upcoming return to action.

James was limited to just 413 minutes of action last season due to hamstring injuries.

James suffered the current injury this summer after an extended period on the sidelines recovering from hamstring surgery in December 2023.
He made two cameos in May for a total of 30 minutes, but his injury problems meant he was never in the running to make England’s Euro 2024 squad.
James had played for Chelsea during their summer tour of the United States, but has yet to play for the London club in the Premier League so far this season.
The 24-year-old full-back has suffered a torrid time with hamstring injuries throughout his career, which has undoubtedly prevented him from reaching the full potential of his prodigious talent so far.
James was confident his luck would change in the summer of 2023 when he posted a photo of himself on X, with the caption: ‘New era loading… ps. We’re just getting started.’
James hopes to recover from a series of injuries that have hampered his progress.
James has started 118 games in all competitions in his career for the Blues, 81 of them in the Premier League.
His troubles in the professional ranks began after an ankle injury while playing for England at the Toulon Tournament in June 2019.
Since then, James has been sidelined with knee, thigh and ankle problems, with his hamstrings being an area of particular concern.
In addition to missing Euro 2024, he was also absent from the 2022 World Cup squad after suffering a knee injury during preparation.
