Rebel Wilson’s book release ‘delayed’ indefinitely in Australia after the actress accused Sacha Baron Cohen of sexual harassment in bombshell memoir

The sale of Rebel Wilson’s highly anticipated tell-all memoir, Rebel Rising, has been delayed indefinitely.

The Australian actress’s book, which was due to go on sale on Wednesday, has been withdrawn from physical and online bookstores.

Buyers who attempted to obtain the book on Amazon were notified that the title is “currently unavailable” and that “we do not know when or if this item will be back in stock.”

Several online fans have reported that sites like Booktopia canceled orders for the book and local stores like Big W and Dymocks also refunded existing pre-orders.

The book’s publisher, Harper Collins Australia, said Yahoo Lifestyle that “the publication of Rebel Rising has been delayed but we have no further comment.”

On Wednesday, Rebel posted on Instagram announcing that the book was on sale in the US, however many of her Australian fans took to the comments to complain about the delay in Australia.

‘I pre-ordered a copy from Big W in (Australia) and recently received a refund and notification that they no longer had the book in stock. Devastated!’ a comment read.

‘This happened to me too! Now I don’t see it available anywhere in Australia,” another disappointed fan wrote.

On Facebook, another Rebel fan reported that their local bookseller said the book was being pulled from the market to be reprinted to “remove some parts.”

Rebel has claimed her alleged experience with Sacha Baron Cohen gave her an eating disorder in her explosive new memoir.

He alleged that on the set of the 2016 comedy The Brothers Grimsby, Sacha asked him to strip for scenes despite his “no nudity” rule, in a series of claims that Sacha has strenuously denied and, he says, contradict the evidence.

In an excerpt from her memoir obtained by People magazine, she surprisingly alleged that Sacha asked her to “stick her finger up his ass” because he thought it would be a funny scene in the movie and claimed that she “felt like (he) would have sexually harassed.” me’.

Rebel also claimed that her alleged inappropriate experience with the Borat actor gave her an eating disorder and detailed the “lack of respect” she felt.

The Pitch Perfect star recalled how she felt “completely disrespected, which led me to treat myself with even more disrespect by eating in an extremely unhealthy way.”

Rebel played Sacha’s on-screen girlfriend in the 2016 Louis Leterrier-directed film and has made a number of accusations about her uncomfortable experience during filming.

Rebel claimed that during filming, Sacha repeatedly “mentioned that he wanted me to be naked in a future scene”, which she claimed was “in no way essential” to the film’s plot.

In her book, which was published in the US on Tuesday, she wrote: “I felt like every time I spoke to SBC, he mentioned that he wanted me to appear naked in a future scene.” I was like, ‘Ha, I don’t do nudity, Sacha.’

Rebel claimed that she was allegedly summoned by a product assistant for an additional scene while filming in Cape Town, South Africa.

However, newly surfaced footage of the sex scene in the 2016 film appears to show that the action was part of the script and that the actress was okay with the scene.

Several never-before-seen clips from the film that didn’t make it into the final cut were obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com and show the characters Rebel and Sarah using a cell phone to film themselves getting intimate.

In the clips, Rebel can be heard discussing the scene on camera, but out of character, telling Sacha, “I’ll slap you (on the butt) and do a… going down the crack,” to to which he responds, “It’s almost like you’re going to stick your fingers inside,” prompting him to respond, “yes.”

According to people close to Sacha, director Louis Leterrier had to discuss any nudity or sex scenes with Wilson before filming them. They say she accepted the scene.

They also say the cell phone was used because the film called for Rebel and Sacha’s characters, Dawn and Nobby, to use an iPhone to film themselves having sex.

However, in a statement given to DailyMail.com, Rebel doubled down on her book’s description of Sacha as a ‘jerk’.

“It’s an idiotic move to post footage of part of that disgusting episode and leave out everything that preceded it, including my horrified refusal to stick my finger up SBC’s ass,” he said.

“This couldn’t have been because of the movie, since director Louis Leterrier wasn’t even present,” he said.

‘What this edited video shows is what I had to do to get out of the room, as written in Rebel Rising. Posting unauthorized and misleading behind-the-scenes videos without my approval is SBC’s latest way to intimidate and deceive me.

Sacha has strenuously denied mistreating Rebel or pressuring her to get naked in the film.

A spokesman for Sacha said: “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive and detailed evidence, including contemporary documents, film footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers”.
