At a first glance interview with Vanity Fair Published Tuesday, the director shared his expanding plans for his latest project with Netflix, a concept Snyder has been considering since college. But the project will actually be two movies after the writer-director talked to Netflix about his 72-page script, which translated into a nearly three-hour movie.
“(Netflix movie boss Scott) Stuber was like, ‘On the service, movies under two hours really do do better for some reason,’ even though you’re going to binge-watch an eight-episode series,” Deborah Snyder , producer of Zack partner and wife, says. Details about how Snyder built his universe were also revealed during the interview. In addition to the film’s expected effects, the director built an actual village in the Santa Clarita Gorge outside of Los Angeles.
