An Uber Eats customer went hungry after an apparent glitch in the app caused her to receive an empty McDonald’s burger box.

Mel had ordered a Double Big Mac and was ready to enjoy her meal after it was delivered to her doorstep.

She was shocked to open the box and find it completely empty.

The frustrated customer took to Facebook and revealed that a technical error was to blame.

“There was a bug in the Uber Eats app and somehow all the ingredients were deselected,” he wrote.

“Macca’s staff must have thought it was cooked and just sent me an empty box.”

The receipt shows that all eight ingredients that make up a Double Big Mac were voided, including the beef patties, salt and pepper, and bun.

One social media user claimed that technically Mel should have been given a beef burger.

‘Technically, there should be a burger in the box. “There are two burgers made exclusively of beef and the instructions only eliminate one,” they wrote.

In fact, since the customer ordered a Double Big Mac, there should still be three.

A similar incident occurred just a few weeks ago with a McDonald’s food delivery app at Maylands in Perth in March. yahoo reported.

A pregnant customer was left disappointed and hungry after opening her breakfast delivery to discover an empty wrapper with a strange note inside.

Her boyfriend claimed online that a “regular” sausage McMuffin was ordered with no additions or exclusions.

However, the note gave a strange explanation for the empty packaging.

‘The sausage egg has egg, muffins, sausage and cheese. It’s a no to everything, so we’ve just given it the packaging,” he said.

The man said the store’s note made the situation worse because they never ordered an Egg and Sausage McMuffin.

The confused and disappointed man posted the handwritten note attached to the McDonald’s bag on social media, saying it made him laugh “but hell hath no fury like a pregnant woman.”

In March, another incident occurred when Uber Eats delivered a McDonald’s order to a store on Sydney’s lower north shore.

The customer, Lorraine, said Uber Eats issued a refund immediately, but the children were hungry after playing a game of rugby league and were only given ten nuggets and chips to share between them, and some bacon (in the photo of the receipt).

The receipt showed that a triple cheeseburger had been ordered, but all items were voided and customers only received an empty box.

However, the double cheeseburger with bacon added arrived with bacon on the box, and nothing else, after all other foods had also been deselected.

Customer Lorraine told WhatsNew2Day Australia she contacted Uber Eats immediately.

“The problem was that they wanted me to show them a photo of the missing items, but how can you show a photo of something that never arrived?” she said.

Fortunately, after sending a photo of the receipt, Uber refunded her money.

‘It’s just ridiculous. I understand if there is a problem with the app or even a mistake made on our part, but why do the staff pack an empty box and still charge full price?’
