Thibaut Courtois showed off his bachelor party costume on social media as he flew off for his “bachelor’s weekend” dressed as iconic video game character Luigi on Thursday.
The Real Madrid goalkeeper, who shared details of his wedding to model fiancée Mishel Gerzig in March, uploaded an Instagram Story of him surrounded by friends as he sported the full outfit and mustache brand of Luigi.
Courtois captioned the story “Bachelor’s Weekend” with an airplane emoji and included a graphic of the cheering cartoon plumber.
None of Courtois’ Real Madrid teammates were spotted on the plane, although the Belgian revealed in March that Los Blancos president Florentino Perez would be invited to the wedding.
He claims to have a good relationship with the Real Madrid chief, who sadly bid farewell to club legend Karim Benzema ahead of his £258m move to Saudi champions Al-Ittihad earlier this week.

The celebrity couple revealed their wedding details in an interview with Vanity Fair in March
Israeli model Gerzig, who has been dating Courtois since the summer of 2021, told Vanity Fair in March, “We invited Florentino Perez to our wedding and we hope he can come.”
Courtois added: “I get on well. He’s the boss. He wants us to win. I like his style, he’s very close.
“He doesn’t miss a game, something I’ve never seen from any director.” He demands a lot of you, but he’s a great president. He succeeded in everything.
“It’s not like we WhatsApp each other, but we talk before and after games.
“In the club, he always comes to chat with Mishel, with the families of the other players.”
Before the goalkeeper left for his bachelor weekend, Courtois, Gerzig and their friends attended the Carlos Sainz go-kart center in Madrid.
The Belgian keeper claimed the top spot on the podium and shared a story of him celebrating with champagne in true Formula 1 style.

Gerzig also appeared to be celebrating her hen, as she and her friends uploaded several photos to Instagram, including one captioned: “My best friend and almost married.”
Courtois admitted it was difficult for him and Gerzig to enjoy their privacy in the Spanish capital as they are recognized all the time.
“It’s hard for us to go incognito, yes,” he added in March. “Down the Gran Via?” Complicated, even if you wear a cap and sunglasses. But we like to be spontaneous. We go with the flow.
Gerzig went on to reveal that their wedding will take place in a private and romantic location, adding, “We already have the date, a magical place. It will be a private, romantic and fun ceremony, with a big party and music.
