Real Madrid set to leave it late but Zinedine Zidane is insistent on pulling off blockbuster signing of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba
- Real Madrid’s interest in Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba hasn’t faded
- Pogba remains a No 1 target for Real and Zidane hasn’t given up hope
- They must move quick to sign him before the continental window closes
Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane hasn’t given up hope in his pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Zidane has been chasing Pogba all summer and wants the La Liga giants to make a final push for him before the continental transfer window closes on September 2.
United have made it clear they aren’t willing to sell unless Real make a significant bid in the region of £180million.
Paul Pogba could still leave Manchester United for Real Madrid before the summer ends
According to Marca, Zidane’s hunger to sign Pogba hasn’t faded and he sees the 26-year-old as a player who can transform Real’s European fortunes.
While Pogba isn’t expected to force through a move, he is keen on playing under Zidane.
There has been a clear indication all summer that Pogba would be keen on a ‘new challenge’, something which he spoke about at an adidas event earlier in the summer.
Pogba’s brother Mathias believes the Manchester United midfielder would be the perfect fit for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
‘Everyone knows my brother would be great for Real Madrid and Zidane,’ said Mathias during a recent interview with Spanish publication AS. ‘It’s Real Madrid and Manchester United who need to talk.’
When pressed on whether Pogba could still seal a move to Madrid this summer, Mathias remained coy on the subject.
‘I don’t know, I’m not inside the Bernabéu. In football you never know…’
