The Belgian Football Association said it has allowed goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to miss Tuesday’s friendly match against Germany in Cologne due to the busy schedule of his Real Madrid team.
Courtois participated in his 101st match with the national team during the 3-0 victory over Sweden in Stockholm yesterday, Friday, at the start of the 2024 European Championship qualifiers, in the first test for the new coach, Domenico Tedesco.
Courtois played 32 matches with Real Madrid this season, and the team is awaiting matches in the Spanish League, the King’s Cup and the European Champions League.
Con Castells, the 30-year-old German goalkeeper of Wolfsburg, will get the opportunity to participate for the fifth time with the national team.
