Real Madrid teenager Reinier’s troubled loan spell continued to Girona on Saturday after he was sent off without ever being on the pitch.
With his team leading 1-0 in the derby with Espanyol, Reinier was preparing to warm up when he said the assistant referee was “very bad, very bad,” according to a report from MD.
Referee Angel Ortiz immediately showed the 21-year-old a red card for his remarks, with Rainier now facing a two-match ban.
Denmark international Martin Braithwaite equalized for the visitors following the incident, but former Middlesbrough striker Krishian Stuani restored the lead with a late penalty.
Reinier has had a difficult period in Catalonia, having started just three times since joining the club on loan at the start of the season.

Since the turn of the year, the Brazil youth international has made just three appearances for Michel’s side, meeting for 32 minutes and his latest offense is unlikely to endear him to the former Rayo Vallecano manager.
After making his debut for Flamengo in 2019, Zinedine Zidane brought Reinier to the Bernabéu in a deal worth £26m.
This was followed by a two-year loan spell in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, and the attacking midfielder was part of the team that won the Bundesliga championship in 2021.
However, the majority of his 39 appearances in all competitions for de Borosne came off the bench.
The 2020 Olympic gold medalist’s deal with Los Blancos is expected to expire in the summer and he is one of a number of players expected to be allowed to leave the club as Carlo Ancelotti looks to make room for newcomers in his squad.

Reinier’s current deal at the Bernabeu expires in June and he is expected to be allowed a free leave.
